This trade is possible. I was playing around with it yesterday and you have to add another player for both teams to make the salaries the exact match.

Neither team can aggregate either. Needs to be 1 player for 1 player with exact salary match.

Teams over the first apron can not take back additional salary. Teams over the 2nd apron can not aggregate.
These two team can’t tango unless it’s Booker for Towns.

Although KD is a better player than Towns, I honestly doubt the Wolves do it. Who guards Jokic if they do this, and how many years does KD have left?

This, plus KD is famous for wanting out, every year he is older and on the move lowers his retrade value. Add to this KAT’s connection with the locker room and Rudy especially (we are trying to get him to decline his option and lower his salary, for 25-26 and sign for more years,) and you basically hit a wall. KAT isn’t likely moving, and if he does it will be for someone like Markkanen who can floor space and play with Rudy for less money.

According to our board this trade is possible if KAT waives the trade kicker. That said, I think the Wolves would pass. KAT is our backup C and Naz showed he is not a C anymore throughout last season. We would be creating a roster hole with no player or money, or roster spot (15 is not gonna be used,) and no way to fill it. This trade doesn’t make the Wolves much better (if at all,) as KAT is quite a bit younger and plays better big man defense. Interesting idea, but ultimately DOA.
