He's a center I guess but this seems like a weird two-way. Just going off his international stats the last few seasons but he's 28, bad ft shooter, no range, fouls a lot without too many stocks to show for it, doesn't really play above the rim, doesn't rebounds all that well, turns it over quite a bit. Hoping for the best, not expecting much.

Who does his agent also represent? Backdoor Sabonis 9, directed by John Hurts.

Not sure? Rollins is really good, Galloway was bad on a bad G League team, and then couldn't get minutes on a bad summer league team.
Horst is really bad. A bunch of interesting young centers still available, instead we grab a bad, too old for development big with no range or athletism.

This is seemingly another example of Horst being bad on the margins, at least w/ unproven players.

Horst is good at making big splashes, but his margins moves are so bad.

Not even gonna bother learning the pronunciation. Bucks can’t develop first round picks, let alone turn a 2 way guy into a rotation player. Just abysmal in the development department
Do it for Chuck

I always like using the end of bench or 2-way spots for high pedigree, former first rounders like this guy. But I think at 28 years old he is who he is now.
Maybe he's the most NBA ready guy of all the bigs still elligible for a 2-way? Thats the only positive I could spin, that in a pinch he could come in and give us a solid 10 mpg here and there as opposed to a raw kid straight out of school.

Seems weird. Was hoping we'd be shopping for bigs at the Olympics if anything

Can't beat Rolo reading a book during the game after he was traded.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Guy just got 3 serviceable rotation players working with the vet min. That seems to be working pretty well on the margin. Idk what two player you think we could realistic get that could realistically help us in the next two years playing on a veteran heavy team. Would think anyone with upside would want to go to the wizards or nets for possible chance at competing for playing time.

Yeah, I think you're right.
I'm assuming they did due diligence on other guys, and he was the best combo of ready and willing to accept a two-way.
This fills a need and allows roster flexibility. Can't start the season with three bigs, or at least foolhardy.

Going to assume signing some random 7 foot Latvian is a favour for someone. It's pretty bizarre whatever the rational.

I don't hate it tbh. Scans to me as an adequate emergency C. Played fairly well against other true Cs when he was 24. We needed another plausible tall guy, getting one on a 2 way is fine to me. If it turns out he can't do that or we make another move that makes him unnecessary, very easy to move on.

I know the bucks don't have the draft picks for quite a while. But can't they still buy first round draft picks second around draft picks? Or doesn't anyone sell them anymore? Just curious

Did you somehow miss the caveat AT LEAST W/ UNPROVEN PLAYERS. It's a very different skill-set, more in line w/ his drafting. I gave him credit for the FA signings, and that being his 1 clear strength.
It's kind of a semantical argument too of what "on the margins" means. I don't think starters & rotation players accrued in FA constitutes operating "on the margins". Margins are rounding out the roster, w/ guys you hope elevate over time.
And I don't agree the Bucks should be a hard sell for 2-ways in certain spots like big. We have 3 true bigs (only 1 who's athletic), on a 15-man roster, plus had no real C our summer league team. We should have been able to sell near future opportunity. The Heat are trying to win now. Didn't stop them from luring Keshad Johnson, who'd be good for us. They have a superior eye, which has given them a rep for being a favorable situation to boot.
