I know the bucks don't have the draft picks for quite a while. But can't they still buy first round draft picks second around draft picks? Or doesn't anyone sell them anymore? Just curious

As a second apron team they cannot send cash in trades iirc.

AJ Green seems like a pretty great 2-way get for Horst.

Locked him up for 3 years too.

If GTJ walks next season (not impossible we come up with a Bobby arrangement) then Green has a year to develop enough to seize the long term starting spot.

Dairy Bird appears ready to be a solid part of the rotation either way.

Not sure? Rollins is really good, Galloway was bad on a bad G League team, and then couldn't get minutes on a bad summer league team.

Horst is really bad. A bunch of interesting young centers still available, instead we grab a bad, too old for development big with no range or athletism.

Yes I am not sure since they appeared to be intrigued by Galloway as a project guy. Apologies for not possessing your level of unbridled arrogant certainty when it comes to personnel moves.

Leaving the starting 2 spot open for guys who want the visibility of that spot is a strategic choice. Where you choose to spend and what you believe you can do without spending... optimizing resource allocation is the job.

I don’t know if it has been discussed. Coach Spanoulis in the Greek NT has convinced Giannis this summer that the ball should be in the hands of the PGs. Obviously it doesn’t help that random Euroleague players get that mission, but it’s a beauty watching Giannis playing within his full strengths and not acting like a PG or running through people.

If Spanoulis convinced Giannis to let the ball to Calathes and become patient in offence, I guess Doc can convince him let Dame run the show and have better shot selection. FWIW Giannis played full time at C in the last win against Australia. At this stage of his career he seems more locked than ever to do whatever it takes to win.

I’m sure Bucks are watching this. Giannis looks 100% committed to a different approach this summer. I would love to see some continuity in that with Milwaukee next season.

Honestly, I think the big difference for Greece is that they are playing more like the Bucks, if anything. More face-ups in the corners or at the elbow, post-ups, back-cuts, and the occasional screen when on-ball for Giannis.

Giannis is playing patiently offensively, and making good decisions, but it’s not like they are playing him all that differently than the bucks - they are using Giannis more as a screener, but this also has highlighted some of the issues of your best player being the screener and roller - it’s hard to scale up usage as a roller, and you’ll go through long bouts of the ball not touching your best players hand.

You have to mix it up with Giannis, and that absolutely includes times when he has the ball on the perimeter.

Giannis is the most effective pick and roll ball handler in the world. Not using him this way only proves that Spanoulis is a moron. Giannis is the most effective scorer ever, but the misuse by Spanoulis helped Australia hold Giannis to just 5 2nd half points, which has Greece needing help to stay alive.

I would love Horst to think as smart as you just did here ... but unfortunately ... the starting 2 spot is open cause they messed up the Bogdanovic trade. I honestly wish Horst was as smart as you. You made the best case possible for signing FAs at starting SG.

I assumed there is a near 0% chance GTJ comes back after 1 season because we can only give him like a 10% raise over the vet minimum we are giving him this upcoming year.
