I'll take Deron. Gilbert could shoot you out of the game the same way he could win you one. Deron was more versatile as a player IMO.

Deron. Gilbert was electric for a couple years, but I think Deron was the better all around player. Deron was a very good floor general and playmaker, and very strong. Those Jazz teams led by Boozer and Deron were really good.

Gilbert was more skilled. The problem with him tho was he wasnt disciplined and he plays around too much.

Everybody talking about Gil having 60, but Deron had 57. I pick Deron because he was basically the better player. Loved gil though

I will go with the guy who speaks the truth… there are no such things like shark attacks.

Williams was a product of Sloans system and I know most people dislike Arenas, I think Williams was an all time douchebag. You got to be a prima-donna to make a guy like him say FU I am out of here.

I rate Deron but he was overrated and stats were inflated due to Sloans system.

Eh, Jerry wasn't gonna coach much longer regardless of anything to do with Deron, but from multiple interviews it sounds like there was one single moment that year where Jerry called a play, Deron ran the play, but flipped it to the other side of the court and funnily enough they scored. They had a massive blowup in the locker room at halftime and Jerry quit the next day.

I don't think Deron was any kind of diva, just that he had a bit of an ego like pretty much any NBA star especially going into the late 2000's. Gone were the days of the Stockton / Malone type stars and Jerry didn't know what to do with this new breed.

This was the very start of the season.

Williams was a Diva.

Not really a fan of either, heard Williams was one of the reasons Jerry retired from coaching; dont know if that is true.

Arenas was a chucker with a big mouth.

I’d take DW. At least he wasn’t Arenas.

Personally I take Deron Williams all day! (Some bias due to being a big Illini fan and learning of just how stupid Arenas is in recent years)

But honestly Williams was overall more versatile, Arenas was John Wall, before Wall, a one dimensional (scoring) PG that didn't do much else and couldn't lead his team to big-time victories.

Arenas was a mess but he had superstar talent scoring wise.

Deron was dependable all-star guard. But he allways felt like a system player to me.

Arenas was a total empty stats loser on the court, and a nutjob to boot.

Williams, while not great outside of Sloan's system, was at least good in a system.

This shouldnt even be a debate. Deron was a true PG that made his team better. Gil was a selfish inefficient chucker

DWill, not even remotely close. DWill's peak was just a notch below CP3 at the time, he was a very effective, efficient 3 level scorer with a killer handle and excellent playmaking ability.

Gil was talented and a prolific scorer but he never made anyone around him better or had much team success.
