The separator for Team USA will almost always be its depth. So few teams can match up with the star power the Americans have 1-12.

But there has to be a buy-in and there has to be a respect level for the game and for the opponent.

The depth is what makes it a spectacle it's also just top of roster even if the other team has an elite player the US still basically always has 5 of the top 6 guys between the two teams.

There's a bunch of elite foreign players but they're from different countries. It'd be really interesting if anyone (France seems like the most likely?) ever got 3 elite guys that fit together well. At that point you're really filling up your main offensive/defensive responsibilities with elite talent and we'd get to see if having how much having stars as role players instead of actual role players really does. Might be diminishing returns at that point especially with egos involved.

Until then it's really more about whether the US is committed and locked in.

The "if Serbia wins" bracket is correct.

If Serbia loses, there is zero chance Canada can play Serbia. France & South Sudan finish in Pots 2 & 3 with Australia (who locks in Pot 3 by being the 2nd best in their pool). Canada is 100% playing either France or South Sudan in the QF.

Edit: If South Sudan were to win by 9+ we play France. If South Sudan were to win by 1 - 8 we play South Sudan. If Serbia wins we play France.
