Imagine actually thinking taunting the crowd up by 20 in the final seconds is some masterclass of trolling. Embiid is an absolute clown, and cares more about nonsense like this than playing winning basketball, hence why he's 30 and the only MVP in history to never get past the 2nd round.

Embiid is a professional troll who happens to be great at basketball. Basketball is entertainment he's just entertaining and and engaging with fans. You take that as a negative because you take life too seriously. Others like myself can see he's just a big kid who loves to go back n forth with the people booing him.

Sorry bro, but you a hater and that's fine.

I wouldn't be patting myself on the back too much for being able to see he's just a big kid. I think that's pretty plain to all of us .

In a 7 or even 5 or 3 game series sure, usa would essentially be unbeatable

But 1 game elimination is inherently volatile and has a tiny error margin as ncaa basketball shows.

Is actually a crazy testament to usa overwhelming talent edge they are essentially unbeaten/almost unbeaten all time when bringing their A teams but all it takes is one bad game (and good luck on the other side)

I've been thinking about that I'm kinda reaching a different conclusion I think
(just my opinion, of course YMMV)

A game might not go your way to start with due to luck or any other reason, but I feel that being able to make adjustments on the fly and having a team disciplined enough to change strategy and react in-game, is actually part of what makes a good basketball team. If you need a bunch of games to think about it and watch film in order to react, to me that's too often an excuse for poor coaching and lack of preparation and readiness. Under pressure is where big players and big coaches shine, and they should be rewarded for it IMO. Same for coaches who try something completely out of the box in order to catch the opponent unprepared and steal a win from a better team. I love seeing that personally.

The 7 game series exist because NBA fans want to watch more NBA basketball, and they want to pay for it, and there is really no reason to tell them no. Now, that has its own beauty as well, it's a marathon and needs to be managed differently and strategically, but in my mind its not necessarily better or more accurate than single elimination games, just a different focus, and a different kind of beautiful in its own right.

How did Greece advance over Spain when Spain won head to head and the point differential is the same?

Oh, I see it was a 3 way tie and in those 3 Spain had the worst diff.

Spain was the worst team in the triple tie with Greece and Australia.

Writing a letter to the President of France begging for citizenship in exchange for him playing only to turn around and play for a powerhouse in direct competition to them.

France tripped over themselves to get Embiid a passport. And he's not even French. Has not even lived in France and now they are upset that he decided to play for a country that he is an actual citizen of. That's just crazy on Embiid's part, right. France should be ashamed that they went to such lengths to get a player that has never lived in their country. If I am not mistaken this is the first time he has ever set foot on French soil. My cod these French....so sensitive.

I hope everyone hates him even in the USA when he comes back. Be the Villain of the NBA Embiid use their hate to make you stronger. Perhaps this way he can actually be healthy come the playoffs.

So why did he write a letter to the president of France begging for citizenship?

His family have immigrated to France from
Cameroon. The French have housed them and given them a better life. He wrote a letter asking for citizenship and he’d repay them with playing for France. They gave him citizenship and he bounced.

It’s poor form no matter how you spin it Eyeatoma I mean Eyeamok….

He wrote a letter because he wanted to play for the French team. He changed his mind. He is an American citizen. Do you have an issue with that?

Honestly this whole thing was similar to college recruiting. He chose USA. I think the fact he’s been here almost 20 years and never stepped foot in La France makes it not a weak move. IMO

I'm going to Crete tomorrow and I hope the Greeks will welcome me with free gyropitas for what we did yesterday.

Always thought a certain amount of tact and decorum should be observed by all athletes at the Olympic Games (in all sports)

The original and GOAT sports team of all team, The 92 USA Dream Team were not only a legendary team but also fantastic ambassadors for America and the NBA in general, treated their opponents with respect (no childish gloating) and
treated the worldwide fans and the fine city and people of Barcelona with absolute gratitude and class.

Embiid has no such qualities in him.

He is just an annoying man-child who makes it so easy to enjoy watching his and Philly's annual playoff flame outs.

He is one so called All time Great (which I don' think he is tbh) that I am very happy will never win an NBA chip.

Dennis Rodman was a clown, but mostly at his own expense, he never bullied or belittled opponents.

Its probably more acceptable (these antics) in the NBA (even if I don't really like it) but as i say, the Olympics should be more about winning, about sportsmanship and maintaining friendships with other nations (least that's how I think it should be)

Right, so the French 20,000+ strong can boo him every time he touches the ball, but he has to take it.

You want sportmanship and friendship tell that to the host country.

Good grief...

I agree that French fans booing Embiid is beyond stupid. If the olympics had been held in Cameroon, those fans I'd absolutely understand, but French fans are basically complaining that team USA got to steal an MVP level talent from another country instead of them.

That's being said, Embiid is also a man-child. So it's one of those both things being true situations.

2020 USA felt more 'beatable' than this current iteration. Just way too much up and down firepower on this new squad on both ends.
