I don't think the Exhibit-10 is Official, yet?

No it's not. Manning speaks as if it's a done deal.
Almost one year later, with a return to the floor looming, Scrubb will receive a second chance. He'll sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Celtics once he fully recovers and receives clearance to play, allowing him to compete for a spot with Boston before likely resuming his basketball career in Maine.

Still a lot of time, before Camp.
He could make it to TC.

Yeah, seems like it's likely he'll be on an exhibit 10 training camp deal. But not official.
He'll sign once he fully recovers..and Bobby Manning's report also says that he's currently about 80% healthy. So still 20% more to go. And a few weeks till training camp. So maybe he will be at 100% by then, maybe not. We'll see. But sounds like it is likely..but not a definite thing..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Yep. Nothing official. But it's more likely than any of the 4,000 names posters here speculate about. We'll just pencil Jay Scrubb in as the 20th man for the meantime. Just scrub him off the list later if deal falls through.

I wonder when the Celtics are actually gonna meet up?
Is Media Day, in Abu Dhabi?
Also, who's going?
Exhibit-10's -- Two-Ways -- Or just the NBA Roster?

The Celtics have 12 playable regular season players. Walker fills a big need which is scoring off the bench. Sure, I'd love to have a rim-running big like a poor man's RW3 but this roster is pretty damn complete.
GUARDS: White, Jrue, Walker, Pritchard.
FORWARDS: Tatum, Brown, Hauser, Tillman.
BIGS: Porzingis, Al, Queta, Kornet.
PROEJCTS W/POTENTIAL: Springer, Scheierman, Watson.
BETTER LEARN CHINESE: Walsh, JD.

Yeah, but you never know, when an injury can hamper things.
They say that 10% of a Team will be injured, during the Season.

Jay Scrub turns 24 before the season, is coming off an ACL tear and has no significant NBA resume to date. If Scrubb were to pan out as an NBA player who is his comp? Like if he hits his ceiling, who is he at the NBA level? Jordan Clarkson?? Bigger Carsen Edwards?? Modern-day Shandon Anderson?

If Scrubb reaches his ceiling, he's in that Terrance Ross, Will Barton, Jordan Clarkson, Lonnie Walker IV archetype..

Wonder if the last guy is Scrubb or someone else.

Schakel seems like a guy that would coach one day. Read a couple interviews he seems like one of these no off switch kind of dudes.

Yeah, Schakel being waived does open the door for Scrubb to possibly get that training camp invite.
But I feel like the odds of that happening went down a bit with the signing of Walker..since they're basically the same type of player (so we don't really need both) but Walker is much more proven at the NBA level and is not coming off a torn ACL.
I would like to see Jaelen House get that last training camp spot. He would bring hustle, energy and intensity to training camp.
If he outplays JD in camp/preseason, you could give that 2-way spot from JD to House.
Worst case scenario, you could funnel House to Portland on a g league contract for us.
But after thinking about it more, and watching some more film on him (from summer league and from college) and digging into some more of his stats, I really. do think he's got a shot at developing into a decent rotational backup guard in this league.
-His playmaking is good (he had 20% or higher assist rate over his last 3 years of college ball, including one season at 29%
-Usage % is a good indicator that often can tell us which prospects will make it and end up being solid NBA players vs which ones won't. Most solid NBA players were 25% or higher usage during their pre-draft season. A lot of the guys who don't make it were like 21% or under. House was around 26-29% over his last few college seasons
-His best attribute is his defense. He's a dog on D. Good at extending his defense well beyond the 3 point line, really getting after it and pressuring opposing ball handlers as we see here:
Had a career steals % in college of 4.3%. Last season 4.2%, the year before that 4.7%. These are really good numbers.
Yes he's only 6'0" but with the toughness and energy he plays with, he plays bigger than that when you watch him. Kind of reminds me of guys like Jose Alvarado, Davion Mitchell and Jevon Carter.
Isn't a great outside shooter but has been really good FT shooter (88%, 85%, 88% over his last 3 college seasons) which of course is a good indicator of 3 pt shooting projection. Another indicator is 3PA volume and he was 8, 8 and this past season 11 3PA/100 possessions which is very good volume.
I wouldn't expect him to be an elite shooter in the NBA but I think eventually he could be a respectable shooter. Plus you have his playmaking on D, good perimeter D and flashes of driving to the basket as we see here and I think he could actually carve out a role:
I want to see us keep him in the organization. Have him play in Maine this season (either by taking JD's 2-way or just have him on regular g league contract),and then possibly give him a shot at making the team next season (possibly on a 2-way).
And I'd like to see him get a chance at that last training camp roster spot.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything
