He’s not the player you want next to Brunson. Incredible talent though. Obviously the Knicks shouldn’t say no, but he isn’t leaving them and the Warriors would ask for very young or future assets in return, of which we have none left.

Golden State is heading towards one of the toughest places in sports. On the one hand, Steph is still one of the top 7 players in the world and means so much to the franchise. On the other hand, do you want to offload future assets for what could only be a 1-3 year window at best as a fringe contender? Remember, Steph turns 37 in March and has a ton of playoff mileage on him.

I think Steph has earned the right to either finish his career in Golden State, or for the Warriors to accommodate him to a desired destination to round out his career.

But given how hard it is for a player to stay in one spot for his entire career - I see Steph staying.

We're definitely not going to be in the conversation to get Steph even if we might enjoy it as fans. If this FO has any wiggle room left to pull off a big deal I don't expect it to be for a 37 year old whose wheels could fall off any day now. It happened to Klay and it will happen to Steph. If' we're giving up assets it will be for someone we're slotting into the lineup for the next 3-4 years, not a quick hit on the fame pipe.

I fear we can not get JV (10M) by giving away only Precious and fillers.

We can not get more money in the trade to avoid being hard-capped at the first apron (we are already hard-capped at the second apron for packaging players in a trade). So we must give at least 10M to get a 10M player.

All our cheap players are vet min guys. I heard we can not package multiple min guys in a trade anymore.

So to get JV (10M) or another center that makes more than 8M, I fear we will be forced to give away PRECIOUS (6M) and DEUCE (4,3M).

That's why I think we need to use our Tax MLE or some part of it this offseason to get another tradable salary.
