Ingram to Miami again?
Round pegs for me? Play with the filler/min salaries to Charlotte?
Miami: Herro, Robinson, Ware, 2026 LAL 2nd, 2031 Miami 2nd
Miami: Ingram, Micic, JRE
Miami uses their rookie to bring in a third wheel for Bam/Butler. Micic is really terrible on defense, but can run an offense..
Charlotte: Grant Williams, Richards, Micic, Miami 2027 first
Charlotte: Herro, 2026 LAL 2nd, 2031 Miami 2nd
Charlotte trades a protected first for a couple seconds to add a young overpaid locked up scorer. He can play with Ball or Green.
NOP: Ingram, JRE
NOP: Richards, Robinson, Grant Williams, Ware, 2027 Miami first
NOP brings in a couple vets that fit in their rotation, a rookie center to compete with Missi, and a future first.

If New Orleans loved Ware, why didn't they trade up for him? The cost was minimal.

Maybe they expected Ingram to have a bigger trade market and thought they could find a better vet center?
But they dont have to love Ware, just have to think he’s better than the prospect they have… and they should be willing to admit that?
Just my opinion? Since both project to offer some rim protection - They really should have traded up to get the center that has range and not just taken the center that dropped to them.
Maybe they love Missi though and Ware would be brought in to be his cheap backup for four years.
Grant and Duncan are both overpaid, but would play nice roles in a second unit with CJM and one of the young centers..
You think Miami owes another asset? Another first? Just a swap? JJJ?
They have the value to make it work..

The Heat easily says No.
BI is a 1yr rental who is often injured.
Dont over value Ingram

Why is he a one year rental? Bam, Butler, Ingram, JJJ, Terry with a decent bench group is worth keeping together as long as Butler can get healthy and be a top 5-10 player in the playoffs.
Herro and Ware aren’t much combined value though so don’t think it’s overvaluing much.

The concern is Butler/Ingram/Herro all seem to be injury prone. Gambling on who is healthiest here.
If Ware is going to NOP, Missi should be swapped back to Miami.

My concern is your inability to read the OP before you post.

Herro isn't on the heat after this trade.

Re: Ingram to Miami again?
Charlotte's out. We just traded Rozier for that pick, why would we trade that pick back for a worse version of Rozier on a bigger contract, and give up two serviceable rotation players (and one bad rotation player) on top?

Herro plays in Charlotte after this.
Terry/JJJ/Ingram/Butler/Bam… Bench decent with Micic/Alec/Richardson/Haywood/Jovic/Love
I think Miami is getting a pretty good deal as is, taking a first round pick from NOP tips the deal a bit too far IMO..

Herro isn't a worse version of Rozier though. Herro is better, albeit with more injury concerns but a bit more juice offensively and more size.

I think Herro is the better player.. Or at least really similar. But there’s also Herro is 6 years younger and 4 inches taller. Feels like a better fit with CLT just due to that.
And Grant Williams is a pretty bad contract, that Charlotte was paid to take, that they get out of without sacrificing much value.

Grant Williams actually played equal or better than PJ Washington was playing for us prior to the trade, change of scenery helped both of them a lot.
I'll disagree on Herro being better, and won't argue someone giving him the benefit of the doubt to call him an equal... despite being bigger, he has none of the advantages that come with being bigger. Due to a monster wingspan difference, Herro's standing reach is only an inch higher. Not that either is a savant at these but Rozier also provides more rim pressure as a slasher, isn't as useless defensively as a result of his reach and reflexes (IQ is the bigger issue than his size), and last season he did finally figure out how to be an okay playmaker.
Herro's younger, so I'll give you that, but the point is we're not interested in hopping back on the $25M a year scoring guard carousel at an even larger price than we hopped off for. Tre Mann is honestly making it quite easy to forget about Terry already, and he might not even receive an MLE contract.

I like Ingram but Bam is making a his desire to play PF ubiquitous. This trade prevents that.

Re: Ingram to Miami again?
This is really an Ingram for Herro swap.
New Orleans would be getting a younger player who is a better fit with Murray/Zion with two years of team control at a reasonable number. The downside is that (a) Herro and McCollum are redundant although given CJs age he’s not a long term piece and (b) we don’t know if Herro is more than a great 6th man.
For Miami - BI is a guy who is a legit #2 scorer who’s probably best suited to be the overall #3 on a championship caliber team. Which in a way works in Miami because Bam is a 2nd best overall player who should be the third offensive option. Problem is BI wants to get paid like a #1 and has durability issues.
I think I like this trade for both teams. I can see Murray/Herro being a very good fit in the backcourt, with McCollum moving into the 6th man role.
And with Miami - the Rozier/Herro fit is questionable and BI gives them the extr shot creator they need. The window is so short around Butler that you worry about future flexibility in the future. Realistically, I see them maxing BI on a 4 year deal and looking to move him halfway through the deal - when the deal is sub max as a percentage of the cap and short term.

Correct. My point is a lot of the moving players have injury histories. Getting the teams to buy off on them is going to be difficult.

He is for sure worth more than that bag of crap Miami is sending out. Hell even when he would tore his acl and not play he would have more value as an expiring that that heat package...
