man so disappointed in that performance from canada. it felt like SGA vs. 5 and even our defensive guys were struggling against players i've never heard before. a lot of plays they were simply out-hustled which is why they gave up so many free throws.

i feel most badly for SGA to be honest, he carried the team on his back and nobody was there to support him.

congrats to france and wish them well in the rest of the tournament.

They secured the first as well

For as much as I agree on France getting all the homecooking y'all accuse them of, I think we should set the record straight on the fact that this was their 3rd win of the tournament, not 2nd. They beat Brazil in the opener.

The Japan game was a clear inside job so he is right tbh

Canada was terrible, a lot of fouls not called on both sides.

Yup, but you could argue that France was also terrible and one team was artifically buoyed more than the other. It's like the basketball equivalent of a mistrial.

France was very good in the first quarter and Canada was never able to find an answer on offense the whole game.

Refs are not the problem imo

Refs weren't the problem, our first quarter was horrendous, we couldn't score the ball. SGA carried and got absolutely no help. Murray is a straight up bum. We couldn't guard their size in the post without fouling, Yabasule and Lessort feasted.

Homecourt in the Olympics is huge, I'm not surprised that France won.

Where are all those people demanding the French coach to be fired. His gameplan and rotations were flawless imo, benching Gobert was the x factor even though Wemby was still bricking his 3s

Canada can whine about all the questionable calls but Wemby wasn’t even scoring, settled for too many 3 pointers and still France was able to dominate them inside.

Canada’s defense just wasn’t the same. The bad start cost them their rhythm and cameback fell short with some missed opportunities and dumb plays.

It’s so disappointing because this robbed us of what could have been a great SF between Germany and Canada. France won’t play this well again for consecutive games.

Collet is most hated FIBA coach for a while now, people just decided on him for years. France still almost fumbled it, that late timeout from Collet helped, he told them to post Wemby at least.

Can't believe you guys are in favor of benching the greatest defensive player of all time in an elimination game
