Technically appropriate malapropism
Also, something that might surprise people. I think when it comes to athleticism, agility, physical attributes and skill I rate LeBron only in the top 50.

Why is everybody throwing the word "choking" around? France got good talent and has homecourt. They played great defense and deserved to win. So what's the point?

The end of the game was a hot mess but it was an entertaining hot mess. France is going to get smoked by the U.S. though.

Back to back finale, 'nuff said
Future is not necessary that bright, even with Victor, but i am beyond happy for Nico, Fournier and all old (washed) dudes who remind everyone that bball is also a question of heart and passion (talent too, despite the haters).

Gotta admit, I underestimated the homecourt advantage here. The French players are clearly giving every last drop of effort fueled by the crowd, that's been the difference in these last two games.

Rewatched the non-call on Wagner hoping it’s another bad ref call but he did fall on his own on that one.
Poor Franz, that’s two late sucky plays at end of elimination games now (last one was with the Magic in the playoffs).

I hope I am wrong, but I expect the final to be pretty boring. France has played great defence in the last two games but you can't really hang around and compete against Team USA with such a mediocre offense and lack of ballhandling. They would need Wemny to get really hot from 3 to make it a game and he hasn't been that at all lately.

You won’t be wrong. Even with the refs, let’s say they’re favored 70-30 per cent, in the gold medal game, Team USA is just too talented.
Add the fact that the French are already feeling pretty satisfied winning a medal in Paris, i think indeed, it’s going to be a boring championship game.

Lessort and Yabusele won't be able to do much when Bam/AD are on the floor, they've brutalized teams with those two but we definitely have the recipe to stop that.

Canada was favored big, Germany slightly lower but still considerable favorites.
Pre-tournament, they were also the top two favorites (outside the US).
They did not end up according to expectations— the very definition of chokers.

This is the only good news out of this France upset. LOL. We might see a blowout gold medal match but we’ll experience a bronze medal game that will feature two frustrated teams which does not want to leave Paris medal-less

Re: 2024 Olympic BASKETBALL Thread (pt.5: Men's Semifinals Thursday August 8)
The other day Giddey cried after Serbia came back from behind and beat Australia. Now Wemby also emotional after winning this game and France advancing to the gold medal game. For these international players, playing at the olympics for their national team probably rivals winning the NBA finals, maybe more.
