It makes sense to extend him if Warriors feel like a shot of confidence in JK will push them to a top 4 seed position in WC. Dunleavy has to see how this team does in ‘24-25 before making premature long term investments. This is likely last year Draymond and Steph are in primes before they start to decline and they have to try and improve their balance sheet if they can move off of Wiggins deal within next 12 months

and he got sent right back to the bench the moment Klay was approaching playable

26.6 mpg as a rook.

BTW James Wiseman got 21.4 mpg as one of Kerr's rookies... unlike Podz he didn't earn them, but he got them.

This +1000. Klay got the start again because he was Klay. Not that his performance last season earned it. Sadly to say Kerr stuck with Klay as a starter for way too long but understandably so. BP arguably outperformed Klay on a lot of nights, if not most, as a rookie last season.

Love it. Max up or lose for nothing. Should have traded when you had chance ....

This is what RFA does to teams, it's nothing new. If he won't budge off of the max, there's no reason to extend him now. Let the season play out and see what the market looks like. Who knows? It could be a soft market again.

Warriors will always have the option to match or trade him midseason. If I'm the Warriors, I'm trying to clear my books as quickly as possible. That means you keep all your options open aside from trading Curry.

The dude is 21 years old and has gotten better every single year. If you can't see the talent level, you're blind af.

He blows and he hasn't gotten better. He's lost out there and he has no bag. He's 100% empty stats. That's why the Jazz and Clippers didn't want him.

Lol ok. Come back to this comment when he's a future all-star

This season will show us more what Kerr thinks of Podz

Brad Stevens played 19 yo Tatum (rookie) and 21 yo Brown (soph) both >30 mpg after winning 48 and 53 games with older players the prior 2 seasons

Doc played 21 yo Maxey 35 mpg for a similar EC contender

Malone played 20 yo Murray 30+ mpg and later MPJ got 30+ at 22 on a roster that had won 150+ games in the prior 3 years

You just contradicted yourself. If he was just there cuz "he's Klay," then he would've never been benched. BP sucked azz as a starter, which is why he went straight back to the bench.
