If Tatum doesn't publicly come out and slam his mom for her comments then it's basically like he said those things. Whether it's fair or not doesn't even matter, the cat is out of the bag now. His mom either overstepped in about the dumbest conceivable way, or just said out loud what Jayson was venting to her. Either way it's a horrific look that no coach wants near any kind of team. Youth coaches don't want that crap dealing with middle schoolers. Dealing with that crap with a 26 year old man who is on a 300 million dollar contract is just so next level pathetic and infuriating to even have to address.
So Tatum is committing months for USA basketball (he doesn’t get paid) and you want to cut the dude bc his mom has an issue? You do realize these players normally get promises re playing time right? Embiid got a starter guarantee. Tatum is a top 10 player in this league. He’s not some bum. Tatum is a peak professional whose kept his mouth shut when he’s put in this super awkward position by team USA. Steve Kerr is an embarrassment to this country
Steve Kerr got the team to the gold medal game. Now he has to win it. That is all there is to it. Who gives a **** whether or not Tatum plays or not?
1. Celtics fans
2. The city of Boston as a whole
3. Jayson Tatum
4. Jaylen Brown, who will take it as disrespect by proxy
5. Joe Mazzula in all likelihood
6. Countless NBA players active and inactive who have said as much on podcasts and social media
7. Apparently half of the people ITT, one way or the other
I understand your question was rhetorical and more just to communicate you personally don't care and think it doesn't matter, but there are enough people who clearly care and care a lot that it deserved a real reply.
