Okay not a blowout yet, Germany given a second life here. Hoping for a close game since we still have to wait for 8 hours before the start of the gold medal game. Wonder why this one started way too early.

That's actually the problem with FiBa refs. A referee at such high level of basketball doesn't need to compensate anything. That's not professional. Just call what you see according to the rules, everytime.

Have you watched both semifinals?

I skipped Germany/France so that I could get some sleep and be hype for Jokic. His 1st and 4th foul calls were a little rough, but nothing worth complaining about.

The France homecooking was indeed bad (even from the group stages, vs Japan). Germany was still the better team though so their fault for not playing through it.

Serbia-USA was fairly called. Serbia just couldn’t find their shots— and poise— in that fourth quarter.

Glad to see that people now both hate the NBA refs AND FIBA refs— just tells us that fans will often keep reaching when their team losses. i guess that’s one way to cope.

Okay back to the game. Let’s see if the Germans have one last run in them.

Jokic has the 5th triple double in Olympic history. LeBron got the 4th two days ago.

Jokic did pad his rebounds with all those missed tips.

This makes me even more sad for that semifinals. If avramovic played instead of Micic, which whole world saw outside Pesic, we would have won that game. But you cant argue with Pesic, he coached amazing tournament.

i didn't know Serbians were these sore losers, perhaps Bogdanovic whining rubbing off on them.

Lmao one of the lasting images ima have of 2024 Serbia is this

Read on Twitter

Typical Serbian team tactics. The worst divers of all the teams participating. That one is downright embarrassing for them, but not surprising if you watch them play.

All of the German players just out it, we knew both teams were deflated after their respective choked but one team has a superstar and leader like Jokic and won’t allow his team to lose this one.

Compared to JPN-FRA or the 2002 SAC-LAL maybe...

lets just say that when GER had that 10pt lead early and wad threatening to blow it wide open, a lot of questionable home cookingg calls that made it possible to kill GER momentum and allowed FRA to tie it up. After that.. it was more or less equal.

Perhaps, but that Steph explosion was just too much. Serbia did very well, maybe next time they’ll play smarter and don’t choke in the final quarter.
