2024 NBA Draft Grades

Atlanta Hawks: Zaccharie Risacher, SG/SF

Image

Grade: B

While consensus opinion held that there was no consensus top prospect in this class, the majority of mock-drafters had the Hawks adding Zaccharie Risacher in this spot. That doesn't necessarily make it a good pick, but on a night that could be full of surprises, Atlanta kept things uneventful.

Risacher possesses one of the draft's better blends of polish and potential. It's easy to picture him thriving in a three-and-D role early in his NBA career, but his flashes of handling and vision let the imagination run wild with thoughts of him one day functioning as a high-end creator.

If he doesn't max out his potential, he'll be a helpful support player and probably a rock-solid starter who defends multiple positions, splashes open shots and makes smart, simple reads on offense.

If he does approach his ultimate ceiling, he could emerge as a do-it-all big wing, which is tricky for teams to find outside of the draft.

The star potential isn't what you'd normally want from a No. 1 overall pick, but that would have been true regardless of whoever Atlanta selected here.

2024 NBA Draft Grades

Atlanta Hawks (via Heat): Nikola Djurisic, SF, Mega MIS

Image

Grade: B

Nikola Djurisic intrigues as a 6'7" creator. He floors the pedal as soon as he spots an opening, and he has shown flashes of three-level scoring and creative passing.

For an Atlanta team that could be on the verge of parting with one or both of its primary creators (Trae Young and Dejounte Murray), Djurisic is a flier worth taking.

He also hasn't fully developed a consistent outside shot, which could make it tricky for him to add off-ball value. There are also questions of just how valuable he'll be on the ball, since his handle isn't the most advanced and his decision-making can be unreliable.

Still, it seems like the Hawks could veer into a future-focused rebuild at any time, so they should stay patient with Djurisic's development.

This is what frustrates me about the Giddey criticism. Dude spent the night with a girl 2 and a half years younger than him and NBA fans are trying to end his career.

Meanwhile, grown, adult women are preying on teenage boys headed to a huge payday and...

Grading Every NBA Team's 2024 NBA Draft Performance

Atlanta Hawks: A

Image

Zaccharie Risacher (No. 1); Nikola Đurišić (No. 43)

The Atlanta Hawks' grade depends an awful lot on how you feel about Zaccharie Risacher.

The 19-year-old is perhaps the least heralded or known top pick since Andrea Bargnani in 2006, but the best version of the Frenchman fits the modern game perfectly.

He's 6'10", a fluid athlete and a potentially dynamic outside shooter. There's at least a chance he'll boast the combination of size and versatility just about every team is after on the wing.

The more interesting pick, though, may have come on the draft's second day. A couple hours before the second round started, Atlanta traded former first-round pick AJ Griffin to the Houston Rockets for the 44th selection. The Hawks later moved up one more spot to take forward Nikola Đurišić.

They're essentially betting on Đurišić being better than Griffin, and there's a world in which that winds up being the case.

The Serb, 20, is a product of Mega Basket, the same team that employed Nikola Jokić before he came to the NBA. Over four seasons there, Đurišić averaged 15.9 points, 4.2 assists and 1.2 threes.

Versatility is crucial in today's NBA, and Đurišić has the potential to check more boxes than Griffin (who may just be an outside shooting specialist).

Maybe you shouldn't use the word "preying" when complaining about radical fundamentalism

I have no idea what you're referring to.

But if you hire a babysitter to watch your young kids...and then the babysitter starts dating one of the kids while still a minor....

That is literally the definition of 'grooming a minor'.

Yeah...

Spoiler:
Adults who groom children for sex is a deal breaker for me.

Not a fan of anyone who defends them, either.

Obviously wasn't referring to children. Once they're major they can do what they want

Why are you bringing this here? Mabybe current affairs or GB

Apparently this woman has been tried and convicted by the court of Jamaal based on a couple of twitter posts

I'm not defending anything. If a law was broken they should pay the price

What you are doing here is strange

The Milwaukee Bucks won a championship...but they are not a championship organization.

They're just a clown show of a franchise that got lucky when a referee took out Trae Young.
