This must be really insulting for Tatum. He already brought gold to USA. It's not his first time, and he's being treated like this.

It's not like dubious coaching is confined to USA basketball. For example, this is the fifth straight Olympics in which the men's 4x100 relay team couldn't pass the baton.

Calling JT a role player is even worst than a ridiculous hot take but some posters called JB a 3D guy or the c's 5th option (at best), for years and I don't remember any mod to admonish them.

Some posters complain when I complain about Coaching all the time..

No reason to stop Now.. Kerr is either an Idiot and overrated because he always had great talent etc.. OR he (or maybe Curry and/or Lebron) have something personal against Tatum.

It's one or the other. There is No analytic BB reason Tatum shouldn't be playing.

Joe getting thrown into a chaotic environment in his rookie season with talent at least 10x less than what veteran coach Kerr has going for him with that Olympic team is like an apples and toenails comparison. Those Dubs championship teams have the greatest shooter in all of basketball history who's also maybe a top 10-15 player ever then added a top 3 offensive player all-time on top of one of the most versatile defenders ever. Any team he's helmed was expected to win, even blow out the competition. But guy still managed to blow a 3-1 Finals series lead with a 72-win team.

My simplest explanation is Tatum has the least ego on the team outside of White and Holiday (both are essential for POA/perimeter defense) so it's easier to sit Tatum knowing you won't hear a peep from him. For everyone's complaining in his behalf, we haven't really heard JT whine about the lack of playing time. Taking all of this like a champ, at least publicly.

Kerr sobered up and used Tatum in the gold medal game. He's tasked to box out Gobert. Doing his part. Wide base. Arms out. Never leaving his body. At least from the couple of possessions I saw.

Whenever fans from other teams come into that teams forum just to insult the players and/or the fan base with crazy takes it’s going to draw attention and can often get ugly. It’s also different than just people having opinions the majority don’t agree with which is perfectly fine. Posters have comments on their screen names that allow us to see if they’ve done it elsewhere and other mods have noticed it on those boards too. Nothing official was done, just let them know don’t come in here trying to bait people then cry victim when they bite.
