Outside of an ok showing in the semi-final, Embiid has looked mostly like a lazy sloth. He might start the second half for **** and giggles, but once he comes out, I don't think we'll see him again.

Uh, no, this is not how basketball is supposed to be played. These French players are body checking the US players left and right, and setting illegal blocks all over the floor and getting away with it.
If this game was called fairly, it would be a 20 point US lead right now.

I prefer basketball with the body checks to be honest. This is how basketball is played typically, the NBA and the freedom of movement rules are the anomaly.

Also there’s nothing stopping the US from matching France’s physicality.

Yabusule showing he can hang with them for a few games. Wonder why he did not last in the league?

I'll be a little surprised if we see him or Embiid the rest of the way. No need to spread minutes out now. Just 20 minutes left. Stick with your best guys.

The only people complaining about his minutes are Celtics homers and talking heads. Everyone else understands the situation.

His jumper is TRAAAAASH right now.

I don’t remember him being such a bad shooter, but he looks like he has zero confidence in his shot.

Guerschon Yabusele is playing like he is angry about not being good enough to have stayed in the NBA longer.

I don't think it's wise to assume France won't have a few runs in them. Anything can happen, they are in their home country playing for the Gold.

Physical is one thing. Cheap body shots, and trying to get the US players into fights, is another. Really, really ugly basketball and it's being rewarded by these pathetic refs.

A lot of people on RealGm need issue “my bad” statements in regards to Booker. He’s shown game after game why he’s a starter and why he’s getting big minutes over JT.

Yes this is good old physical basketball. These newer fans are just too soft. You are correct, USA should just dishout some borderline dirty plays from their end and call it a day. i think they will do that in the second half.

Yes but only because he randomly has stretches where he catches fire from 3. He’s a horrible defender though and doesn’t nothing else to effect the game, so when he has games like tonight where he can’t throw it in the ocean, he’s literally worthless to his team.

Also he even has trouble with like dribbling.

Guard by committee can work if players can dribble.

Hard not to appreciate this French team's scrappiness.
Came in rooting for the USA, and still am, but I wouldn't mind an upset either tbh.

If Dwight Powell has an NBA contract and was starting for Canada, I see no reason why Yabusele can't find a role somewhere

He's Paul George reincarnated and his shot feels "weird" right now. Tatum is perplexing because he looks the part and we need another face of the league type, but people won't just acknowledge what he is.

If not for the biased officiating, this would be a 15 point game right now.
