USA Defeats France 98-87 In Gold Medal Game

The United States beat France 98-87 in the gold medal game of the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is Team USA's fifth consecutive gold medal.

Stephen Curry scored 24 points, including four straight three-pointers late in the fourth quarter. France had cut the United States' lead to just three points prior to Curry's outburst.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker both scored 15 points and LeBron James added 14 points, six rebounds and nine assists. Anthony Davis came up big defensively with four blocks and three steals.

Victor Wembanyama led France with 26 points and seven rebounds. Guerschon Yabusele scored 20 points, while Nando De Colo added 12 points off France's bench.

This was, I think, the best Basketball/Olympics in a long time, I don't want to say ever, cause I may be forgetting something, but certainly one of the great contests. Not because USA won, cause, I've always been a fan of the underdog, but because it was competitive. France is going to get better too. Jokic is probably the best player in the NBA right now. That makes things interesting.

Yes, there were questions about the reffing and that's valid, but I still thought it was some great basketball.
