Gruda to Brighton.

I don’t even need this season anymore…

Started the season with a 3:1 victory over 3rd league opposition Wiesbaden.

The roster is still very much a work in progress.

Krauß is likely to go to Luton.

Was never a fan of him. Too defensive minded and poor with the ball at his feet.
So from that perspective not sad to see him leave.
But it is 11 days left in the window and I wonder who is going to play for us?
We have maybe 12-13 players (excluding goalies) who are capable of playing on Bundesliga level regularly when a typical squad size should be 20 (2 for each position).

And all that after selling our best player for 40 mil. to Brighton?

2 days left until the first league match.

Only rumor is a 28-y/o from Bröndby for 8-9 mil.
Safe to say management hasn't learned from the Ludovic Ajorque financial fiasco.
They should be buying a young 20 y/o with potential.

Finally getting some new players.
Jenz on loan from Wolfsburg.
Big CB, physical CB. We can use him.
And Hong from Gent for 4 mil. Can play anywhere in midfield.
Should be good as well.

Probably need another 1-2 impact players to have a good season.

Got Vidovic from Bayern today and loaned out Fernandes to Brest.

Decent moves.
But our backups at CB look dreadful now.
Better hope Jenz, Hanche-Olsen and Kohr stay injury free.

3-3 draw at Stuttgart.

Defense looked absolutely dreadful.
Bell horribly slow.

Should hopefully improve after the NT break with Jenz.

But the team never gave up and got a result in the end. Offense is looking like it could be a fun season.
Burkardt was very good. The new guy Hong looked like he will be a good signing.

5 games, 5 points.

We are back to being a dreadful team.

Could’ve realistically been just one point in 5 games if we weren’t incredibly lucky in the Augsburg and Stuttgart games.

Important win at St. Pauli.
Burkardt carrying the team.
Team created two chances for him, he scored twice.

Klopp to RB as football boss.

I thought he had more class.

Not at all surprised by this, but yeah it's a terrible look.
It's time for 5 refs.

Had a great coaching career at 3 clubs with great fans up until this point and then decides to waste his legacy for an energy drink.

Didn't hurt Ragnick's legacy at all, or Eberl, or Nagelsmann...not sure why it would hurt Klopp in a meaningul way. Dortmund fans will cry, but they cry about everything.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!

I don't have any sympathy for any of the ones you just mentioned.

That’s fine, but you’re not most people. For the vast majority of Germans, going to Leipzig did no more harm to those legacies than did going to Bayern. The city of Leipzig embracing the team has turned them into just another rich bitch for many people.

Ultimately we fell short against spain after not getting a pen we probably should've...again...but with the last international break behind us, this was a really positive year for the NT. The senior team's only loss was that match against Spain, taking the NL seriously for the first time in our history, as Nagelsmann has been building a really strong squad around our duo of BdO caliber maestros.

I still feel like we need to integrate Pavlovic or Stiller into the starting 11 before the WM, but Andrich has really settled in well. It all makes sense the way his game has progressed, but I would never have predicted this when he left us for the pillpushers. Plus moving Kimmich to RB and Mittelstädt's evolution have really solidified the back 4.

The U21s had a much more disappointing Euros, as Mouki got hurt and some of the other top talents weren't part of that squad, but have been rolling since then with a bunch of kids who have already warranted senior team looks...Mouki, Beier, Adeyemi, Gruda, Wanner...with rapidly improving depth further down the pitch; including two young keepers already starting for their clubs' senior teams (Urbig & Atubolu).

Our U19s have been more up and down, but as the generation who won the euros & WM at the U17 level have hit the U19s that team is now loaded with kids that have the talent to not just play for the senior team, but star for it if their development continues to go well...Darvich, Ouedraogo, Brunner, Moerstedt, Kabar, Moreira, Jeltsch, Dal, Odogu, etc. So there should be further reinforcements on the way next cycle.

That Burkardt, Nebel, Amiri, Sano connection is a thing of beauty.
We play the best attacking football I have seen in Mainz since the Schürrle Holtby Szalai years.

I just wish we hadn't sold Gruda in the summer.
He is not playing at Brighton and we would be a legitimate threat to make the CL spots with him.
