It blows my mind listening/reading Gen Alpha and some Gen Z hype up Jordan's teams as super teams while putting down the rest of the league during the 90s. They go through so much mental gymnastics just to prop up Lebron.

On one hand they say the 90's was full of plumbers and Jordans competition was terrible, then they say Jordan had a super team because Rodman. If Rodman didn't play with Jordan they would say he was a better rebounding Vando lol.

Now you have a Lakers fan in here putting Jordan down saying he had a super team and won because Phil Jackson. I wonder if he keeps the same standard for Kobe who was carried by Jackson/Shaqs the first 3 titles. Or how he then played with one of the most incredible front courts of all time in Bynum/Gasol/Artest/Odom. Nah.. They will make up something random to get around that as well.

They’d all be singing a different tune and saying Olympics don’t matter if Steph Curry didn’t bail out LeBron.

Yeah, I just think if there was a GOAT on that roster, the team wouldn't have lost both in 2004 and 2006.

Yup, and it’s for that exact reason MJ can’t be considered the GOAT. I just think that if there was a GOAT on those late 80s Bulls rosters, the team wouldn’t have lost in 88, 89, etc.

I’ve tried and I can’t. Anybody who watched MTV between 1994-2000 is only going to see and hear Tom Green. The biggest loser of the Olympics? For real? You know how neurodivergent you have to be to make the kind of connections he makes

If you need to equate Olympics/FIBA to NBA seasons, go right ahead. But, everybody knows Team USA is favored to win every time, and it's usually never even close.

But the goat can get outplayed in the finals by a teammate and the other teams best player? Yea that makes perfect sense.

I feel people are over-hyping the Olympics. The International game focuses more on the FIBA World Cup/Championship because the teams are better than the Olympic pool allows.

That being said, it's still crazy LeBron has won Gold in three different decades.

USA lost in 2002, 2004 and 2006. There is multiple reasons that explain why USA had such a bad run. Blaming on 19/20 year old Lebron is stupid.

'04 team had prime Duncan and Iverson and still lost. In those times USA assembled terrible teams with no shooting, off ball movement and chemistry.

One teenager wasn't going to change the structural issues that caused such a bad stretch of basketball.

If you need to equate one player’s performance to be equivalent to their team’s performance, go right ahead. But, everybody knows that’s not how teams are favoured every time, and it’s usually never the case.

So Jordan isnt the goat because he lost to Detroit in the late 80s but James can get outplayed by Dirk and Wade in the finals and be the goat? No player on those late 80s Bulls teams was going to lead the Bulls over Detroit. Not until Pippen and Grant had a few years in the league.

Excuse me, did you hear me ever once say, “LeBron is the GOAT”? Because if you have, please submit the evidence of my claim.

Just because I’m responding to someone’s out-of-context claims doesn’t automatically imply I’m of the complete opposite opinion. Perhaps instead of you jumping the gun and assuming that, you’d consider that there’s an alternative, particularly if you took in the entire context of the conversation between myself and the other poster.

If that evidence doesn’t show itself, which I’m sure it won’t, adios.

No your right, a true “goat” would have gotten the Bulls over the hump of the late 80s Pistons. Clear as day.

93 Suns had a better team then the Bulls
No they didn't. They had a better record.

Have to agree with this. MJ still won on an amateur roster.

Olympic golds matter. But we can't forget that the 2004 Olympic team struggled with LBJ. It wasn't until Kobe joined in 2008 where Team USA turned into a forever super team.

In the end, USA basketball is still miles ahead of other countries, to the point where there's no excuse of getting no gold.
Lebron didnt play.
