Top 8 that's a bold statement. LBJ no doubt but Curry? Who's your top 8? Steph is an alltime great and one of the best no doubt but I think he was protected in this era. Imagine he played in Isiah's era. Mofo's would have broke him down. I think the whole ranking thing is kinda silly. Different eras, different teammates etc. But nonetheless who makes top 8.
Old era: Wilt (no doubt), Kareem (ditto), Bill Russell (the winningest player ever). These three players seem like locks.
Showtime era to MJ: Magic (It's hard to pass this guy. He was on his way to the all-time best. Dude played Center to PG. Would his shot translate to the new era? I think he would have been better at shooting had he grown up in a latter era. His dribbling, size, passing and IQ will prevail. lock. Bird, he would have absolutely destroyed in this era with his shooting, passing, work ethic and overall IQ. Not to mention players not trying to break his back. MJ, nuff said. Hakeem, I might take him first out of all these guys. But he's my favourite player and I have childhood memories of him beasting in the playoffs and cooking David Robinson. Even MJ said he understood Houston selecting the Dream over himself.
So that's 6 guaranteed already. 7 when you consider that LeBron is in.
Post MJ era: Tim Duncan (pure winner. I'd take him over Steph). Shaq (hard to know. But he lost to Hakeem.

This era: Jokic (not yet solidified himself over an all-time great like Curry but if he keeps it up who knows. Top 10 I will concede.

IMO Curry can slot in at 8 for sure. Greatest shooter ever, has the championships, and changed the game. I don't like these debate of the greatest players cuz its all from different eras and people have different opinions but for me Curry is right there for sure with what he's accomplished

Clearly defense is the difference between winning and losing for this team.

I think the '22 title solidified Steph as a top 10 player. Durant is nowhere close though. All-time great for sure but it's hard to put him over guys like Hakeem, Dirk, Giannis, Jokic, even Kawhi... All guys who were the best player on championship teams
For me Durant is in the category with DWade, Robinson, Scottie Pippen, etc who needed the help of others to win a championship.
