Which team would benefit the most with Ingram?
I know I have made multiple suggestions for Ingram trades. Others have as well.
So what team would be the best situated to bring him onboard?

Are you talking purely from a talent/fit standpoint, ignoring his next contract?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Probably best as a 3-team deal with NOP getting a center from someone. Ayton is a commonly thrown-around name. Poeltl could be interesting. I wonder if Collins and/or Kessler could work. Capella is another option along with Vuc.

Re: Which team would benefit the most with Ingram?
I'm becoming more and more curious about how Ingram would perform in Julius Randle's place for the Knicks. I'm not a huge fan of either one of their games but Thib's lack of offensive creativity requires someone who can take and make difficult shots. I wonder how Ingram would perform next to Brunson full-time rather than Zion.
The Ingram/Murphy/Jones/McCollum lineups performed very well last year. Ingram/Bridges/OG/Brunson is a better version of that lineup imo and they would still have DDV as an added offensive spark from the bench. The Randle/DDV/OG/Brunson lineups also performed very well last year.
It would require some added salary and a 3rd team since Randle would be a worse fit next to Zion than Ingram is but I wonder how the Knicks would look with OG at the 4 with Ingram's skillset at the 3 versus OG at the 3 and Randle's skillset at the 4 in today's game.

Ingram on the Spurs next to Wemby makes sense to me to propel them into contender-ish status as a #2 who handles the ball a lot. But the Spurs have the cap space to get him next year in free agency and they might prefer to only be giving him 5% raises rather than the 8% he'd be due if they traded for him now.

If Ingram joins a team, it will be via trade. So something has to leave.
Perhaps a better way of putting it, what would your team or the best option trade to get Ingram.

Easy deal to make if you are SAS. Johnson/Collins/25 FRP (via Charlotte).
Have the contract talk before the trade and Ingram will sign reasonably, do it.
As Wemby improves, SAS is not able to tank.

Pretty sure they can just get him in free agency next year though, and they can get him cheaper long-term by maxing him as a free agent rather than by trading, and they keep the Charlotte pick, so there's no point in making that trade. Although they have to fit a PG salary in their $50m+ cap space too.
They at least wait to see how good Castle is.

So did Ingram suddenly start playing hardball defense for the first time ever?
I don’t think he survives two weeks u see Thibs before he is in the doghouse and it becomes a waste of assets.

Cannot see Ingram as a number two anywhere that it’s a team that is actually solidly a playoff team and definitely not a contender.
If that’s the take here then it is automatically severely limiting a young Spurs team that will have a lot of salaries to pay for more talented young players going forward.

Randle hasn't exactly been giving a great effort on the defensive end either for the last 3 years with Thibs but he still gets his 35 minutes per game. It's just a question of who is a better fit defensively in today's game. Randle or Ingram. I'm not sure. I wish both of them showed a better motor more consistently.

No. We need a solid POA defender next to our stars. Like the one we already have.

We will find out how Smart fits. Spacing is awful if he starts.

So this one of those things where people just have a general vibe on something and they let that be a substitute for actually analysis. Ingram has started on a top 6 defense two years in a row and the year before that had a really impressive defensive rating. And that’s with a big like Jonas, not exactly a defensive stalwart. In particular this year he picked it up and frankly with the Lakers, especially that last year, he was a good defender.
Ingram is average to above average and more importantly he can be part of really good defenses. Additionally he’s not a guy you can easily target and he has positional versatility at the wing.
The concerns about defense with him are overstated.

Re: Which team would benefit the most with Ingram?
I think Charlotte is the team that makes the most sense. Msot of the issues with Ingram come down to either price tag, or being a hindrance to bottoming out in a year where teams want high draft picks. But for Charlotte, he is a hometown kid, and they are too good to bottom out and are now committed to enough pieces that you aren't really looking to blow the whole thing up. You kick the tires on his fit with what you already have and if it doesn't work you don't resign. You've got another three years before you have to pay Miller so the potential of a max deal isn't as scary as it is for other teams. Seems to make the most sense. Can't speak for management but Pels fans are ready to mvoe on provided we get a center either directly or via a three teamer.
I still believe Ayton is the best mix of potential and availability.

Similar statistical profile to Khris Middleton, outside of shooting more 2s than 3s. You just need Wemby to ascend to the MVP conversation and fill out the rest of the roster.
