Like all of these it's a straight no from Chicago.
Rather keep LaVine than take the Lakers crap and give up the Portland pick.

So you rather pay a guy 43, 45, and 48m who will give you less cap flexibility and also help you win some games when you want to lose them?
You can get an expiring in Dlo and a solid role guy in Rui (who someone will likely give up some 2nds for or you can keep him since hes only 26)
That Portland pick is protected anyways
You guys would be lucky imo to get off this easy, I think Chicago needs to add or just continue to be stuck in purgatory. You guys need to be tanking hard, not winning some extra games if Lavine is back to playing well and healthy

How can he help us win games? All everyone says is that he doesn't affect winning.
Rather let him try rehab his value because people have forgotten how good of a scorer he is.

I think context can be very important. LaVine I think effects a winning, but he will raise the floor of a team more than he raises the ceiling of an already pretty good team. Maybe with an absolute perfect fit he could raise a ceiling more, but I don’t think that is the Lakers who he would control the ball of less and have had similar styles of players who don’t feel maximized (e.g., Russell). But put him on a team that really lacks a perimeter scorer, and I think he definitely adds wins assuming healthy. Magic would probably be his best fit, but unfortunately I don’t see them taking on his contract.

He's still a high-volume scorer who makes a ton of money. Even if he's back to his peak value, he's not that valuable.

Basically this, if healthy hes still a very good scorer
I think hes a solid fit for us. Lebron with a scoring guard who can shoot the 3 is always very good. He was very good with Mo Williams, great with Kyrie, very good with Reaves, and we just saw him and Curry together do pretty damn well
Lavine>Reg Season Dlo, but maybe not a by a ton
The main difference is the playoffs since Dlo is limited athletically and relies on basically only jump shooting, while Lavine can attack the basket and get fts. Also much better in transition (higher volume and ppp when I pulled this up).
Also Lavine is a better defender
But theres big risks
1) Injuries
2) A huge 3 year contract. If this goes wrong, its going to be very bad and the Lakers window is over
Paying your #3 guy 43m is likely a bad idea and would likely need Lebron to take a pay cut next summer.
The only way this works is if you got a few cheap role guys who can play. So we will need our 2029 1st, JHS, swaps, and 2nds to go and get 1-2 rotation guys (backup C and a wing)
