That seems hyperbolic. He had a hot start, the usual things happened and he calmed after returning from injury, as did his numbers.

BIIIG stretch to call him the most overrated for maybe two months of talk. Especially when he was clearly one of the best offensive players in the league all seaaon long regardless.

Hard to consider him OVERrated when every conversation about involves health, playoff dropping and never passing the 2nd round...

Well, considering that 10 posts down from mine someone called him overrated, I’d say it’s not hard for some people.

Probably Durant, people rank him high based on past performance. He’s 36. Last year was the first year since 2019 when he played more than 55 games in a season. He had a playoff run where he got swept with a PER of 13.6.

Strangely it’s probably Jaylen Brown right now, one of my favorite players. Just because of recency bias and the narrative of him being “snubbed” from the Olympics team (the truth being that he wasn’t quite good enough for the type of player that he is).

They hover around the 10-20 rankings in the league.

I won't name them because it'll probably piss off 25% of the fans on this forum.
So I'll stick with Tatum.

its Tatum, even Kerr realized it in the Olympics and relegated him to water boy duties

Then, yes. Considerably less so after, though, which undercuts his mention.

Edwards or Brown. Lean Brown. Ant is getting put in some some conversations he has no business being in because of an 11 game stretch against two teams that had no rim protection or size to throw at him. Dallas did and he looked a lot more like the top-25ish guy we saw during the regular season. Brown is nowhere near the 14th-best player in the league which was what he was voted here. He's a low-end All Star benefiting a ton from winners' bias. He wasn't even that good in the playoffs. He had some moments, but he didn't make a major leap or anything. His team was just better this year than it's been in the past. He wasn't as good as Middleton was during the Bucks' run and no had had Mids as the 14th-best player after Milwaukee won the ship.

As others have said this is very subjective, with ambiguous criteria.

Overrated relative to who's criteria? ESPN's top 100 list? Random fans or posters?
If so, opinions will be all over the place.

To get a more "solid" answer you'd probably have to define very specific criteria and then do a poll.

Even with this, knowing RealGM, it's probably going to be "hate" type of answers.

I'm a Knicks fan, so Tatum is overrated. :D
