He has some of the most fools gold 30×ppg 10+ rpg games of any player ive ever seen. You look at a end of game where his team lost and check the boxscore and be "wow he had 32/12 on like 54% fg.... he did his part. .

But when you watch the game he gets like 25 to 28 of those points in the first half gets the odd basket in the 3rd quarter and just completely disappears on offense. for the rest of the game.

He starts out by killing teams with shots very close to the rim or dunks. Then when the 4th quarter hits, he stands around on the perimeter deferring to lesser guys outside of Lebron.

Its almost like once he's gotten certain numbers he's content and plateaus.

That's because he's playing the best defense in the league a lot of the time. Hard to give that level of effort defensively and put in the work in the 4th as well.

I love Draymond the man, Draymond the player and Draymond the commentator. Draymond has a temper problem but so does my wife and I love her.

If you dislike Draymond I will not trust you. I do not trust pack animal people and conformists.

This is hilarious and I'm excited to see where you take this next.

Some of this is true and some of it doesn't excuse his disappearing act on offense.

Giannis is of similar physical dimensions to AD although a bit stronger and is still able to give a lot if effort at the offensive end while playing elite defense. His shooting touch is nowhere as good as ADs but at least at times he's willing to shoot and miss. AD won't even put up FG attempts.

Even with the addition of Lillard he hasnt ever been paired with anyone as good as Lakers Lebron.

I’m gonna go with Donovan Mitchell. Honorable mention to Curry for jacking up 3’s.

He’s a great guy, great scorer, but his teams are always 48-34 and out in the 1st or 2nd round.

If we could only figure out which player this board talks about the most, almost non-stop really, and isn't the best player, or close to, by any measure.

that Wong posted just asked this last week, and first two names that popped to my head where Domantas Sabonis and Nikola Vučević. I feel majority opinion is better than what they really are, especially Vuč, people still think hes good because his game is appealing to they eye, but the substance is not there at all. He jumpshot looks vet, but % vise, he sucks. He looks skilled in post, but man is soft and can't draw a foul even if you post him up non stop. People still think that guy is good, and I do not think he is good at all, he is offensive centers whose offense is garbage.

I disagree with Markkanen, because at least here, too many clueless posters think he can't play defense, because its stereotype I guess, he is white Euro big who shoots 3s. But in reality he is excellent forward defender, I would say he is underrated if anything, but maybe I am proving Rockazoids point...

EMbiid is not overrated anymore, most people gave up on him entirely, how can he be overrated at this point,

It’s not just stereotypes, the metrics have Lauri as a slight negative defensively.

I'm going to use the term overrated to mean the player who gets the most undeserving media attention i.e. popularity. I'll go with a couple vets and a couple newbies.

Curry and Durant. Both guys still get treated like Superstars, when that time has clearly passed for both of them. Curry couldn't get his team to the playoffs, and Durant got his team there just to get swept. I'm sure you can find plenty of people who would still call both of these guys top 5 players in the NBA.

Edwards and Haliburton. Both guys have been crowned the next Superstars of the league, but still haven't proven anything yet against the other best players/teams in the league.

Bonus pick: Lillard has been overrated his entire career because of his popularity. Great player, but never a Superstar in my eyes... and I'm a big Lillard fan.

Don’t you dare write his name. He is a basketball god. Not the best basketball player anymore but still the crown prince of basketball gods.

Marcus smart for me..the guy is a decent starting guard at best yet he won dpoy..and the fact people bring him up when talking about how good of a supporting cast tatum and brown had is just laughable.

It’s all over this board. Even GOAT peak makes him overrated considering his lack of “peak” defensive impact at the C position

Nowhere have I seen people say Jokic for his CAREER is in the GOAT discussion. I've seen people say he can get there. A very different statement.

As for the defense stuff...all it takes is for one to believe Jokic's overall total peak is among the best ever. Just like Russell has a case to be in that discussion on his defense, so too does Jokic with his offense. One could easily argue both those guys were so much better than number 2 at their side of the ball it offsets being average to good on the other.

Lebron. He still looks great and fills up the stat sheet but they’re empty stats. His floor raising days are long gone. He’s lost 4-0 and 4-1 in his last two playoff series. One win out of nine games with prime AD on your team is atrocious.

All Time:
Reggie Miller. In a career that lasted 18 years, he made All NBA 3rd Team 3X and the All Star team 5X. That means he was never considered a top 10 player for any season in his career yet he somehow made the NBA Top 75 all time team.

On RealGM:
Kevin Garnett. People actually rate him above Magic, Bird, Wilt etc. Limited scorer who somehow gets a free pass for losing in the first round 7 CONSECUTIVE years. Lifetime playoff stats: 13 series won, 13 series lost. 70-73 overall in the playoffs. No signature games. Was more of a second banana than an alpha dog.

Lebron's not the most overrated player imho, he had a major impact in the first 4 games of the olympic tournament (I believe it was by far his best FIBA tournament). He's obviously declining, but MOST OVERRATED seems a bit excessive to me
Reggie Miller made the NBA Top 75 probably because of his longevity. When you measure the overall value of an athlete, longevity matters. Rose has won the MVP, his best year was probably better than Lillard's best but no one in his right mind would put him over Lillard, careerwise

PhilBlackson wrote:Devin Booker….not the most, but definitely up there imo.

I’m not sure there’s another player in the league that gets a pass the way he does. All I hear is people calling him a supposed “dog” and talking heads like Stephen A likening him to Kobe but aside from that Finals run, Booker has choked in multiple big games.

Luka obliterated him and for some reason everyone used Ayton as the scapegoat when the showdown was supposed to be between 2 young stars in Luka and DBook. Put Tatum, SGA or Ant in his place and no one is letting them slide.

I don't know if he is the most overrated, but I think Booker is a solid pick if I have to name one

What's your thought on Jordan leading his team to 38 wins in his rookie year as a 28/6/6? Or 40 wins in 87 as a 36/7/6 player on +2.4% rTS and a league-leading +8.4 OBPM?

Golden State was a 46-win team this past season. In most years, that's more than enough for a 5th seed, let alone sneaking into the playoffs. They were the 8th-best O in the league. Draymond played 55 games, Wiggins was his next best player, Klay provided 3pt shooting but scored BELOW league-average efficiency overall, and their overall D collapsed. Steph, for his part, was 8th in the league in O-EPM, 6th in OBPM, and 13th in VORP.

What is it you expected him to do differently in order to garner your respect for his continued ability?

Russell impacted the game on offense as a rebounder and as a defender. He is not consider a GOAT candidate simply based on his defense. He isn’t Ben Wallace.
