One thing me and sham can agree on, trading Randle and Mitch for KAT is a very bad idea. As low as I am on Mitch, I rather have his defense at C than relying on stone footed KAT.

Wiretap has that the Knicks offered Tyus Jones the full 2 year taxpayer MLE. I would assume that also included a player option in year 2.

The difference between the vet minimum for a vet with 9 years experience and the taxpayer MLE is about $2.15MM/year. Interesting that Jones didn’t get a 2nd year player option from PHX.

I guess this makes sense for Jones. He gets a chance to be the starting PG on a high profile team for maybe the last time in his career. With the Knicks, he only would get about 15MPG backing up Brunson.

It’s too bad for NY as Jones is one of if not the best backups in the league. But not a huge needle mover.
