LAL-NOP-TOR: (Ingram, Poeltl, youth)

Post#1 » by MessiahUjiri » Tue Aug 20, 2024 1:11 pm

So this is inspired by another Ingram thread. It’s a 3 way between the Pelicans, Lakers, and the Raps, to get NOP a Center, get LAL a 3rd option and some buyout level capspace, and get the Raps into tank mode.

Pelicans get: J Poeltl, D Russell
Lakers get: B Ingram
Raptors get: R Hachimura, Y Missi, J Hood, ‘25 LAC 2nd

Pelicans:
Murray - McCollum - Herb - Zion - Poeltl
DLo - Hawkins - Murphy - JRobinson - Theis
Alvarado

Lakers:
Reaves - Ingram - Lebron - Vando - Davis
Vincent - Christie - Knecht - Reddish - Wood

(lebron and Ingram handle playmaking. They opened up ~3M in space here, which should allow for a good buyout candidate…think along the lines of CP3 or Schroder)

Raps tank. They could have sent a small player like Davion or Ochai to the Lakers and get back another contract, but I think LA will prefer the flexibility.

Trade makes more sense giving Pels Rui instead of DLo imo . Let Pels keep Missi

Rui to NOP makes sense. Missi has to go to TOR to make it worth it for them though.

I just dont see this for the Pel's. They would have to accept that Ingram has less value than Poeltl (or less than Dlo as i have Poeltl = Missi).

even if they cant find a trade partner for Ingram, i dont see them accepting this. Id honestly just play the season out and make a decision at FA than trade both Ingram and Missi for a decent but not great starting C

That's is my read as well. I have Ingram with more value than Poeltl with either DLo or Rui in there. So having to add Missi on top is an easy no go. And it is not like Poeltl is a great fit next to Zion that would motivate me to overpay for him.

Let the season run its course is the better option here even if you think Ingram walks for nothing over taking this trade.
