Crosby was exceedingly clutch, especially in his later years. The only one I can really think of that he missed during that period was in a midseason game against Minnesota where he eventually hit the game winner in OT.

I think if the battle between Joseph and Carlson is even, which it seems like it basically is, they'll side with the investment and potential of Carlson.

Sounds like the Broncos "Dominated" the Packers in the joint practice today, according to reports. Not entirely shocked a team that just got off the plane less than 24 hours ago and practicing in high altitudes in the morning, didn't have the sharpest day. Expecting better stuff in the game.

If you want to watch practice (it's fun) you only have 2 opportunities left. Today and Thursday. Thursday is the practice with the Ravens. Then that's it, no more open practices.

I expect most of the starters will participate Thursday and most of the starters will sit out Saturday.

The Green Bay Packers signed FB Henry Pearson and waived/injured RB Jarveon Howard (jar-vee-on). General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions on Tuesday.

Pearson (6-2, 249), a first-year player out of Appalachian State, originally signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. He spent his entire rookie season on the Packers' practice squad, seeing action in two contests as a gameday elevation. Pearson was with Green Bay until being released on July 30. In college, he started 43 of the 59 games he played in over five seasons (2018-22) and posted 74 receptions for 897 yards (12.1 avg.) and 11 TDs. In 2022, he led the Mountaineers and tied for the conference lead among tight ends with a career-best five TDs. Pearson also set career highs in receptions (25) and receiving yards (329). He earned second-team All-Sun Belt honors from the league, Pro Football Focus and the Pro Football Network in 2022. Pearson will wear No. 44 for the Packers.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Yep, barring a drastic collapse I think it's either Carlson or someone else who gets cut by another team

Surprise! OK, let me explain. Matt LaFleur has been the Packers’ head coach for five seasons. Here’s where the offense has ranked in efficiency each of those years.

GB Offense DVOA 2019–2023
Year DVOA Rank
2019 8th
2020 1st
2021 2nd
2022 12th
2023 6th

For a while, LaFleur’s credentials as an offensive schemer got docked because everyone assumed Aaron Rodgers was the reason behind the Packers’ success. Then we started to realize that coaching Rodgers in the quarterback’s age-36-39 seasons might not have been that easy. With Rodgers gone last season, we saw LaFleur develop Jordan Love and a bunch of young skill-position players. LaFleur hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet, but he continues to turn in impressive coaching performances season after season.

The reasons to be bullish on this specific Packers offense are obvious. Love looks like he’s special. The critics will say he was good for only half a season in 2023, but if we include every game, including the playoffs, Love ranked third in expected points added per pass play. There’s always some risk with a small sample, but even if Love is the exact same player this season, that’s still really, really good.

The Packers are bringing back almost their entire offense (only guard Jon Runyan and running back Aaron Jones left in free agency). And they have a bunch of young players who should theoretically be getting better:

The reasons to tell me to settle down? Progress in the NFL is not linear. Love could experience some growing pains and take a step back before eventually taking more steps forward. And the same can be said for all of those young players listed above. Another factor to keep an eye on is the Packers’ turnover luck. They had the fourth-lowest EPA lost to giveaways last year, and that will be hard to sustain.

But overall, I’m smitten. I believe in the coach-quarterback combination. I am buying the upside of the supporting cast. And I trust that the offensive line will be good enough. The Packers have all the ingredients needed for an elite offense.

I'm glad Lafleur is finally getting noticed. He's awesome

That's a smart move getting Hale without needing to take up a roster spot. Bummer for Kenneth who's been part of the Packer family for a year learning the game. Wonder if tries to continue his NFL journey.

Double bonus for Hale, not being counted on the roster is that the Packers see if he can better adapt to the American kicking game and see how he adjusts to kicking in the cold. Another plus, is that he can practice with the team, and if Carlson goes south (assuming Joseph is gone), Hale drops into a game day roster much quicker than finding a waver wire guy

How likely/unlikely is Odumwegwu to get tapped for the PS?
