Anthony Edwards Thread: Part Two (Read First Post)

I expect another monumental leap from Edwards this year. He is entering his Prime as a Superstar 2-way guard. He is coming off back-to-back off-seasons with immense talent around him on a day-to-day basis [World Cup and Olympics].

Wade, CP3, LeBron and Kobe all had 2 of their very best seasons in their careers in 2009, the year after the Olympics in 2008.

Durant took a step-up in 2013 following the 2012 Olympics.

While ANT has always been a gym rat, being around someone like LeBron James for 1.5 months is going to show just how much work-ethic it takes to be the best player in the league for the better part of 2 decades.

Or in LeBron fashion he'll go join a super team and try to win with them, get the GM to burn all of the franchises resources, blame everyone but himself for losing, and then move on to another one.

That may happen if Minnesota fails to put talent around him, just like Cleveland failed to do in LeBron's first stint.

But hey, if ANT can win 1 championship, let alone 4, that would be amazing.

If ANT has half the career as the GOAT LeBron James, that would be amazing. Hell, if ANT even approaches KG level that would be great.

It will be for me as well because I am a Timberwolves fan. I don't really weigh different finals differently though. Bill Russell won with 8 teams in the NBA,which is less teams and talent than Jordan had in his league, which is less teams and talent than LeBron had in his league.

Tim Connelly is playing chess, not checkers.

When most GMs see this stat, they would make moves to take the ball out of the guy's hands. Not Tim. What does Tim do? He gives a teammate who will allow Ant to master a new trick. I am not a bettor, but I would wager that Ant will pick up this skill by the end of the season, and try it multiple times during a game.

I get the impression Anthony Edwards likes to keep his teammates involved so he's not keen on scoring 30ppg in the regular season, but in the playoffs he scores 30ppg because his teammates struggle so he has to carry them. So will he ever win MVP on the regular season with 26ppg or will he have to get more selfish and score 30ppg to win MVP? Also does Anthony Edwards date fans?!
