With yahoo's decline in recent years, would you consider moving to fantrax in 2026 offseason?

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Its not explicitly forbidden at this point. Youd just have to agree to immediately swap your season 25-26 picks on yahoo's site once the draft is over and the season can officially start on yahoo. If something happens and like, god forbid one of the owners participating in the trade dies (lol) or for whatever reason cannot manage their team when the season starts, then that would be a risk you have to take because I don't think I can swap picks with commish powers like I can with players. So in a case like that you'd be locked out of trading those agreed upon picks until you can swap them on yahoo.

But long story short, if you want to then go ahead but any seasons beyond 25-26 right now I have to forbid on account of convenience/yahoo's end/sportsmanship. Last thing we need are people throwing all their picks away to contend, and then leaving the league once their window is over.

DesertFox already kind of did this when he traded his 2/3 round picks for 4/5 last year and dipped leaving an aging roster with picks in rounds 1/4/4/5/5. Luckily Durden stepped up but you can imagine it would be tough for us to fill a vacancy where a team has mortgaged their next 5 or whatever 1sts and then the owner dips.

In a loooong time dynasty league I play/manage, we are only allowed to trade 2 drafts ahead (so after our recent 2024 rookie draft, the 2026 picks just became available) and we track traded picks in an extra spreadsheet tab.

I'm on Sleeper app for my main dynasty league, you can trade picks up to 3 years in the future I believe and it's such a superior app for dynasty sports than Yahoo. And I like the Yahoo app after the update

Do you think it'd be worth a switch?

Tough to say. Sleeper is great but there’s basically the app or nothing. The browser version of it has very limited functionality but yeah the dynasty tools are better, cos they’re specifically aimed at keeper/dynasty leagues. One of the best functions is multi team trades - so none of this back and forth online, you can just select teams, picks and players and submit. It then creates a little hub of just the managers involved in the trade to chat among themselves privately - pretty handy.

This is a DEEP and competitive league. 12 teams, 26 man rosters. Each team has a 10 spot taxi stand where you stash any player with 4yr or less experience. They stay in your taxi unless you bring them onto your bench - but once they’re up, they can’t go back into your taxi. Nice wrinkle

I have heard good things about the sleeper app as well. For the last two or three years if you've read some of my posts in here regarding rules/format etc., you probably already know I am disappointed with the lack of options afforded to us on the yahoo end. Downside to migrating is that everyone might not be on board with that/simply prefer yahoo/as Tastic said, the desktop website is not up to scratch.

Is there a way to migrate league history/import history (even manually is ok) to sleeper?

From my end there is a lot of interest in changing our fantasy platform.

I certainly wouldn't mind calling this to a vote/poll around draft time which would be ideal since we're all on the board at the same time (twoish weeks before the NBA seasaon starts), or during the season wouldn't be so bad either. I'll download the app, and look around both it and the website as well, and watch some videos to get more informed. Hopefully it will let me explore its features without joining anything. Or we can set up a dummy league to explore.

It wouldn't be the first time the league has changed platforms either. After the first season, under MathiasPW it went from espn to yahoo.

Managers just let me know if you have interest in migrating the league. If we get enough interest in here over the next month/month and half then I'll make a poll. Maybe watch some vids about the app/website or post questions for users here to answer, and if you can think of negatives then bring those up too. We'd need a comfortable majority in the polls (like a supermajority plus) to begin trying to migrate everyone.

Id do a poll right now. Gives you more time to find replacements if youd decide to migrate and people are not on board.

I undeestand why you'd migrate, but I wouldn't join.

Migration would be for the 25-26 season. Right now things are just too inactive to bother with a poll.

But, not even talking about a poll, the same goes for that situation, wouldnt it be better to have managers on board who will migrate with their teams as soon as possible?

A lot can change in a year and we have over an entire year before we'd potentially migrate anyway.

Im giving this lag time before I poll because if people want to check out the sleeper site/app to make an informed vote on a poll in two months then they can do that. Some people might prefer browser-based, others may prefer app/phone, and others a combination. Many people also might just like all their stuff on yahoo and not want to move.

And we have over an entire year to get everyone on board as well. That kind of process just doesn't need to occur until 2025 offseason since it's likely just gonna be email invites.

Honestly it might just be easier to stick with Yahoo. Less change, everyone's familiar with it and it might just be a case of it ain't broke...

Only reason GoK hasn't joined...needs the ability to at least have 4 or 5 team trades.

You can though, just takes either help from the commish or an extra step.

In app with picks included is helpful no doubt, but is it worth risking losing managers? I don't think it is THAT big of an improvement. And having been in this other dynasty league for years, I can count on one hand the number of multi team trades we've had...

I'm gonna be in Europe for about 3 weeks so hopefully it'll be after that lol. Sometime the 2nd week of October would be ideal
