Gonna be interesting to see if this translates to Lee's offensive philosophy here in CLT.
Well that has a lot to do with having porzingis and horford, two excellent 3pt shooting bigs. Unless Mark starts knocking down 3s...

But the philosophy is there and we definitely saw that in summer league.

Didn’t Clifford make some claim about Mark shooting 3s?

Could be nice.

Clifford is the shadow GM.

Only half joking.

It's funny how simple it is sometimes. The teams above the line have good offenses and the teams below the line have bad ones (for the most part). Turns out, spreading teams out makes it easier to score. To fat's point, how the hell would we spread anyone out with Mark and Nick never leaving the restricted area? I think Mark could at least take some 3's and be a threat. I know he hit a game winner from 3 in GBO, though that might've been a fluke (it was backboard too). Ain't no way Nick is shooting 3's.

I don't think that chart says much, honestly. It's basically "do teams have stretch 5's or not".

Personally I think making Mark shoot 3's is a waste. He's the best lob threat on the team.

There are actually more playoff/playin teams below the line than above it too.

Knicks, Orlando, Cavs, Wolves, Kings, Clippers, New Orleans, Suns, Hawks, Bulls are below. 10 teams

Lakers/Nuggets are on it. 2 teams.

Dallas, 76ers, Heat, Warriors, Pacers, Bucks, OKC, Boston. 8 teams.

I think a good spot for us is where Dallas is. Let the bigs be bigs, create spacing with guards and wings.

I think you're right, but regarding Dallas - they have two guards that regularly make high degree of difficulty shots so the lack of spacing isn't reflected as much as a team without those types of guards. LaMelo is in the "high degree of difficulty shots" camp for sure, but nobody else on the roster is. I think this org has been yearning for a stretch 5 for decades, we just can't seem to find one that is also not a complete liability on defense. Mark developing even a minor 3pt shot threat would do wonders. I could see them running Grant for spot mins at the 5 too, but that creates problems defensively.

What would be great is if we found a way to upgrade C2 to someone who can shoot from distance a bit. Those guys (even if backups) are a premium though and unless a team is just desperate for a guard, I can't see that happening via trade.

Looking at that chart, I don't think it's shooting per se, otherwise KAT and the Wolves should be way up there. The Heat and Mavs, their bigs aren't shooting aces but they can sure move their feet. Someone who can set picks and cover ground quickly to get back for lobs, that looks to be the trick to stretch defenses now. Salaun has potential there the way he moves.

Lol practice facility looks nicer than the stadium

I think this is one of the few topics that 99.9% of us can actually agree on. Love everything that the new owners have been doing since taking over. Very refreshing.

Meh, most people hate Tepper because he came in and "refreshed" everything and made himself super present in everything team related.

I want an owner who dumps money into the franchise and stays the **** away from anything basketball related. Do all the community and media and marketing stuff you want.
