Maybe not any more. I will stand by that comment for the players of the past -- Dirk, Sabonis, Detlef, Vlade, Kukoc, etc. I don't think there's any question that those guys were more skilled than the average 6' 10" American NBA player. But maybe that gap has closed.
i think if we're going to that era, i'm not sure they're that much more than like patrick ewing, david robinson, kevin garnett or tim duncan? of course hakeem though not american, developed in america, was very skilled in that time too. i think if you compare the high-end euro big to the average american big, then they'll look more skilled but if you compare the elite to the elite, i don't think there's that big of a gap if at all. i will grant the passing to the euros though even someone like the late great bill walton could pass with all of those guys and very skilled as well, c webb as well among PFs
