The Wizards decline.

Wiz gave up nothing to get JV, and now you're complaining that they're not getting anything? I mean, if you thought that the Wizards could get something better for Jonas V, I don't hate it.

Yeah without JV they don't get any SRPs.. JV is the incentive to get the SRPs.

My point was that this deal is not just JV for SRP's. It's JV for SRP's AND Vincent's totally unneeded dead weight salary. Two late SRP's is a bad return for turning a legit, albeit mediocre starting center for a backup PG with an $11.5M contract that extends all the way until 2026.

It's effectively unless you've got some obscure value of Jonas V's value. Let's put things into perspective, Jonas signed a 3 year deal for less than the MLE with the Washington Wizards. For his probably last significant contract, he signed with a team that likely isn't making the playoffs let alone competing for championships anytime soon. He's not a valuable commodity. I think it's questionable if a team would even give up a useless expiring for him if we're being honest. The notion that you deserve something for a player that was signed as a FA is odd to me.

Vincent is the same money as Valanciunas.
So both are vets that don't help you tank and sit on your roster. The SRPs are because of talent gap of Vincent to Val.

It's like you are saying that Valanciunas who just signed for you in free agency at market price would be worth 2 SRPs if Lakers had cap space to take him in. Since Lakers don't have capspace they have to pay the 2 SRPs for Val and then 2 more SRPs because they give us back equal salary. You don't see anything wrong with this logic?
