Thought his comments about Jarace's passing were very interesting?

The team really played through him a lot.

Yeah. I think it’s good that there’s only one roster spot up for challenge, and that’s Kendall Brown needing to fend off Cole Swider, and also Enrique Freeman. If Freeman beats both out for the main roster spot, then there’s competition for the last two way spot with now Mangas, McGriff, Tominaga, and James on the running to backfill the spot.

Swider taking the spot from Brown would save about $100k from the tax. Freeman winning the spot could save almost another $1m from the tax, too.

I copied and pasted this from an Indy Star article on Twitter today.

The Indiana Pacers added former Purdue player Dakota Mathias in a series of roster moves.

Mathias comes to the Pacers on an Exhibit 10 contract, allowing him to play for the Mad Ants, Indiana's G League team. He played for the Pacers in the 2024 summer league.

The Pacers also waived Indiana Wesleyan's Kyle Mangas and Cameron McGriff. They could both be re-signed to play with the Mad Ants this season.

Do you think there is a chance that they waive both Brown & Swider, while leaving Freeman on the 2way? Go into the season with 14,... and around what? 2.5M below the tax?

anything's possible but I'd be surprised. Brown is lightly guaranteed until January so if Swider doesn't push him out I doubt Brown gets cut in October.

Brown is $0 gtd until opening night, so if he’s garbage and Swider/Freeman don’t impress, it’s possible they could go with 14 and leave Freeman in the two way for now?

Yup. Granted, if he’s waived right at the January 10 league wide gtd date, he’ll probably have been paid more than $250k, so his waiver salary would be a bit more than $250k.

The Mad Ants were without Quenton Jax and Enrique Freeman as they played with the Pacers last night.

Tristen Newton did play going 6-14 scoring 18 points with 6 rebounds.

Okafor was 3-4 with only 2 rebounds. It appears Ishmael Lane might have played more minutes at center going 6-10 and grabbing 7 rebounds.

The other starters were dreadful. Mathias, McGriff, and Mangas were 4-26 shooting 3 pointers. :o

I imagine the Pacers wish they'd kept Oscar now.
