Is Everton on the way to relegation? They look atrocious so far.

They are dreadful, but always seem to pick up points mid-late season and stay up. We'll see how it goes this season.

Trossard shows one bit of quality up front and puts Arsenal in front, Watkins will rue those misses that's for sure

Good game Villa boys. Had us on the ropes and Watkins sold it for you guys but our luck was due after last year.
Martinelli with a horror showing and we probably need to sign another forward man

Chelsea putting 6 past Wolves despite having an xG of 1.56, which was lower than Wolves, is wild.
Also, Cole Palmer is a don.

Good win for you guys...Unlike last season, where we got the points, but were no really deserving of them, I think we should have at least got a pojnt out of this game. Our tactics were good, but we bottled our chances..and to Arsenal's credit, they took theirs.
Disappointed with the loss, but not with the effort.
Watkins had a shocker with his finishing, BUT he's had zero preseason and will get his rhythm back.
Morgan Rogers is going to have a "Cole Palmer like" breakout season...one of the best players on the pitch in this game.
Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

Yep, and Wolves defence from turnover was murdered by Palmer and Madueke

Only took until the second week before VAR reared its ugly head. Bournemouth and the fans can only shake their heads...
Again, I do not understand the rhyme or reason as to why the ref on the field does not use the monitor. After all, he is the final say, at least that is what the PGMOL has stated. We're talking about a game winning goal here.

Rogers looks unreal. Real gem you guys have there. Keen to see you stay top four this season, just not at expense of our points this time

Where is the consistency?
In the first half, Pedro blasts a ball that was already ruled out but receives nothing. Meanwhile, Rice flicks one away and is given a yellow, which happens to be his second.
Either they are both ruled as time wasting or not.

Kavanagh with another belter of a performance.
It's stupid by Rice, but if you're going to give a yellow card for that?
What about the Minteh follow through on Odegaard, the abvious deliberate elbow on Saka, the kicking away after the whistle by Joao Pedro in the first half?
It's just insane how inconsistent they are.

The underline is my issue. Both are the same incident in my eyes -- a player unnecessarily kicks a ball, and thus, wastes time. How one is ruled differently boggles my mind. By rule, a yellow card should have been given to both. But once the ref waves away the first...

Did that Brighton player got carded for kicking at the ball and clipping Rice from behind?

Are you talking about the same incident when Rice was carded for his second yellow?
If so, no, the Brighton player did not, nor should he have as he was attempting to restart play. It was a Charley Brown-Lucy pulling the football away result.

Re: 2024-25 English Premier League Discussion Thread
Rice is a dumbass. His was an easy, easy yellow for stopping a free kick. I wouldn't have been mad if the Brighton guy got one too. But they weren't the same play IMO.

Re: 2024-25 English Premier League Discussion Thread
You gotta be a narc to send off a player and decide a game off that. That is anti sport and common sense man cmon. He was letting Hinshelwood get away with murder first half , no card on minteh for the same thing rice did in the first half. Kavanaugh I just despise his face man. Not a soul would have called for a second yellow if he just walked away. I'd get it if Rice blasted the ball away but Veltman kicks it at him and the ball is still rolling lmao

Those should have been cards. Maybe I was thinking of another play.
