BKN gets Konchar, Jackson, KJ Martin, and 26 OKC 1st
MEM gets Finney-Smith and McCain
PHI gets Kennard and Aldama
The trade is illegal, because Kennard can't be traded until January 15th -- but that's a moot point, because it's such a horrendous bargain for the Grizzlies that it would not even receive any consideration in the first place.
It's not that Olynyk is bad, it's that the trade you proposed is bad. This one is too. Teams aren't going to go out of their way to accommodate the Sixers' roster needs.
That is a very poor characterization of a deal where Memphis gets the best two assets and the best player. But Memphis does not want to make any trades. Got it.
I think your counter offer as of right now is a clear trade value win for Memphis if we could make this trade right now, but I think we prefer a future 1st over McCain since he would be buried here for the foreseeable future and rather have the non depreciating asset. But by the time this trade can be made the trade values are going to shift quite a bit most likely.
If Aldama plays up to what we hope then we are more likely to keep him for our playoff push versus trading him for McCain or a 1st. If Aldama fails in his role then his trade value will fall well short of McCain's value in January and not worth a 1st either, but Memphis doesn't really need McClain and likely not interested in paying the difference in value at that point in time.
I have DFS worth a decent 2nd more than Kennard as of right now, but if DFS shot is still gone in January that might not even be a swap we want to make at that point. But a Kennard/Rose/2nd(s) for DFS trade in January could for sure be a legit avenue we take if feel we need the vet 4/3 still.
edit...I missed GG Jackson in the deal...zero interest.
edit edit....Reggie Jackson....carry on.
