Let us look.

Schroder - 78
Gabe Vincent - 75

Not too far off. But, this would be like a protected 1st (1-10 or lottery) or maybe 2 2nds and cash away.

cmon man. nobody is ever considering a 1st for DS

I think BK needs a PG this season that has 6+ assists per game. I do not think they will downgrade to Vincent. It doesn't make sense in anyway now.

They already have the mythical unicorn

Unfortunately, he’s never fit

Keep in mind that they aren’t trying to win either so it doesn’t really matter what they need on the court

For 2 months of his life, Vincent was a good player - even that brief peak was/is not better than what Schro on a consistent basis.

Vincent is definitely better than Schroeder, he's cheaper and 3 years younger.

I mean teams don't even like Schroeder.
2022 no big FA offer and takes 1 year TaxMLE with Boston.
Traded midseason for Theis.
2023 vet min with Lakers
2024 2 year MLE by Raptors after losing FVV in a desperate move. Traded for Dinwiddie who they bought out.

C'mon, this isn't really a good way to try to prove one player is superior to another. I mean, Vincent wasn't drafted, had to settle for two ways before he got a shot. I mean, there's also cases like Mozgov who signed right as FA opened.

There's really little arguments as Vincent being a better player, besides on defense. For his career, he's under 40% from the field, albeit, barely,

I would take Schroder personally, but any roster that cares about Vincent vs. Schroder has much bigger issues to solve.

Well this is the trade in OP, that's why we discuss it.
Vincent is the better defender and is more impactful off ball. Schroeder is better on ball but playoff teams have guys they prefer to have the ball in their hands.

Fair. Every Lakers thread tends to boil down to the same issues though; it's kinda the same as the Ayton threads from last year.

The Lakers current depth chart is fairly well-constructed, I think they are nervous about a change because of the balance.
DLo | Vincent | JHS
Reaves | Christie | Bronny
Vando | Knecht | Reddish
LeBron | Rui | Lewis
Davis | Wood | Hayes

Lakers need to find the best pieces to put next to Reaves-LeBron-Davis for start and end of games...
1 of DLo/Vincent/Christie with 1 of Rui/Vando/Knecht/Wood (there is 9 valid combos to try here

and they need to find lineups that work with either LeBron or Davis on bench...

Once they work out combinations that suit Redick then I think they can make moves to upgrade those archetypes that are most useful.
