Re: Summer Runs and Random Player Sightings
Mogbo looks like he's working on guard skills. It would be great to see his PG-like IQ used as a small ball center role. We technically should only have 1 non-shooter in Poeltl. It would be interesting to see how Mogbo can impact the game in comparison with his vision and finishing ability. He should be great at setting picks, rolling to the basket, making good decisions in the short roll whether he finishes or anticipating where help is coming from to create a 4 on 3 advantage. Barrett, Dick, and IQ are very good at capitalizing when you give them the slightest of an advantage.
Gradey adding weight so quickly isn't a great sign. It's better to add 5lbs per year and focus on ball handling and basketball skills. The human body isn't capable of adding 15lbs of muscle in 3 months regardless of how great genetics are. He's gotten heavier and at best his athleticism is neutral, it looks worse to me. There is also a higher chance of injury with heavier guys. I am going to likely feel better about Walter as the season progresses, he has a lot more to work with. I can't see Gradey doing a smooth between the legs dunk like that, Gradey just doesn't have the athleticism or wingspan for that. If there was a great big man prospect available I would want to see us trade Barrett and Dick to bring that hypothetical player in. Their games look pretty but it lacks impact. We can't ignore on-off and other plus minus stats.

Am I the only one that doesn't think Gradey put on weight? The one video is an illusion because the other guys in it are like 5'8.

I apologize in advance if this has already been posted. Also, not Raptor players…yet!

Praise for Edy. Makes me wish over again he'd played in the Olympics
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Can't be as slow as Amir Johnson's. He managed to hit about 35% of his very open threes for a four year stretch for us. That's probably the high end of what we can expect with that release.

The perimeter defense was very different during Amir's run with us. Players are guarding all over the perimeter in today's game. Mogbo will have to start hitting corner 3's and he's going to need a lot of work to get there.

Yeah, but the 3pt line is defended differently now than then. A stretch 4/5 was a rarity during that era when compared to now.
In terms of Mogbo's career, I'm just hoping he isn't a total bust and out of the league within a year or two.
I have a more optimism for a guy like Shead though, as I saw some interesting aspects to his game.

Looks like he’s working on fluidity. His form is mostly fine compared to what it was in summer league but you can see it’s new for him and he’s still thinking through it. It’ll be a few years before it’s natural and it speeds up.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

Any three that mogbo takes, will be an open to wide open three just like Amir because teams will be in help and sag off the big, or they'll be rotating because the ball is moving on our side.
Stretch bigs were prevalent in the Amir era, that's partially why he became one. We drafted our own stretch big in Mr Primo himself.
But yeah he should work on speeding it up if he actually shoots it that slow. He is practicing tho, maybe he was working on something specific in his form

In Raptor Ball I Trust

I dont like the form. Not really consistent and the release is slow and needs to be shot with force. Kind of a hitch in there too.

Of course not. He's not playing at game speed in that clip so that's to be expected.
Raptors record prediction: 45-37 (6th place in the East)

Chomche has a story on Instagram of him training. He looks very fluid, the ball handling, shooting looks better than anyone would've expected.

I just ran to his Insta to check out what you're talking about. The kid definitely seems fluid. Out of all of the rookies, I'm most excited for his development. He's one of those players that if it all clicks for him, he's going to be special.

He really does look ahead of schedule I think he’ll be a good one in 2-3 years

I like how they are running him through guard drills. Walking backwards, head up, dribbling through his legs that can be built up into him trying cross overs in the open floor. If he gets some sort of ball handling ability he would be the highest potential Raptor. He needs to be a starter in the Gleague for us even over Carlson

Re: Summer Runs and Random Player Sightings
Mogbo has to play like first year Siakam. Defend, grab rebounds, move the ball, score in transition. If he does those things, he will be useful. The shot, he will need to make gradual improvements year over year before teams bother defending him out there.
