Pretty much everyone I've heard is saying exactly this. It's super weird, because I loved the first two seasons, was excited for S3 and then.....completely lost me after 2 episodes. I don't know if they changed writers/show-runners or just strayed too far from the source material, but man, this'll be a show that they study in "Good/quirky TV that took an absolute nose dive half-way through its run" courses.

Thought "The Crying Game" was a forerunner to the knockout game.

Brother, it was not, don't think this counts as a spoiler.

Not TV or Movies, but a podcast:

#1 Dad

Comedian Gary Vider revisits his childhood, where his dad was a con man and cooked up a plan where Gary would impersonate a Sports Illustrated for Kids child reporter and he would impersonate a photographer. They were wildly successful, but his cons went deeper and ruined the family. He disowned his father at age 15 and in this podcast confronts him as adults after decades without talking. It is fascinating.

I bailed on Slow Horses after a couple of episodes, I don't remember why. I've heard it's pretty good though. Season 4 drops next week, should I start over?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I truly have enjoyed it. Admittedly, a roundabout slow start, but if you don't enjoy Gary Oldman, you probably won't be all in.

VEEP

My wife and I dumped HBO around the turn of the century and finally decided to sign up again a couple years ago. I put VEEP on the watchlist then but we never got around to checking it out until a few months ago. A couple episodes into season 4 now.

I don't think it was possible to pick a better time to watch this show for the first time.

Veep is a Top-10 all-time comedy for me. Also late on this as usual, but I loved Mrs. Davis. Just the perfect mix of absurdism, thoughtfulness, and originality. Lindelof is a genius with philosophical and religious satire.

Could almost hear all the best parts of my brain lighting up watching Mrs. Davis.

I need to rewatch Ms. Davis. The reveal episode was just amazing. One of the funnest hours of TV in years.

Anybody watch Kinds of Kindness? I usually don't mind weird, quirky movies but this one didn't do it for me. Too all over the place and some of the scenes felt like visual and dialogue diarrhea.

I watched Bottoms. Meh.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Got around to seeing The Harder They Fall. Great cast, I enjoyed it. It's over the top.

I want to love The Rings of Power but the snail pacing and overwrought dialogue and boring ass subplots make me want to quit it. I'll stick with it and hope it gets better, though.

I have so many things to say as an avid Tolkien enthusiast. I try as hard as i can to enjoy anything in the lotr universe and take it on its merits. i WANT to love Rings Of Power as well, but god its so boring. Why do the Orcs have families now? Like what the **** is happening lol. Also I have no idea how they managed to make Galadriel so unlikable. it's actually impressive they turned a 5k+ year old elf into a teenager.
