Pretty crazy if true. I remembered Lebron signing with the Heat first and Amare was our consolation prize but I just looked up the signing dates: Amare - July 5 and Lebron announces July 8.

I find it a bit hard to believe that the Knicks didn't talk to Rich Paul and get word from him that they wanted to play as a package... I remember the Knicks having ample salary cap that summer with the intention of getting Lebron. Donnie Walsh was our GM at the time and he is a solid GM. And Gil does have a habit of talking out of his ass.

How would we have gotten Wade anyway? Btw I’m glad these phonies never came.

Eh, Ant is a kid. I think some of the talk has gotten to his head though

I do remember when he got drafted, he said he really didn't watch basketball a lot. Seems on brand here that he's got no clue how good his predecessors were.

Pretty sure that was just him talking smack. He's got a big mouth no question. That's why they picked him to be in that movie Hustle as the big mouthed smack talking foil to Juancho. But he actually has a very high BB IQ. I mentioned this prior to the 2020 draft when a lot of people were calling him a knucklehead and low BB player likely because of his abrasive and arrogant personality (folks associate that type of personality with stupidity). He did an interview with Mike Schmitz (then of DraftExpress) where they were breaking down film and I was amazed on how sharp and quick minded Edwards was. He definitely knows the ins and outs of the game and what to do to be successful. That's something that most players don't do and don't know. Hard to believe he can do that if he didn't really watch basketball (especially film). Yes Edwards talks too much and is probably the king of trash talking among all players in the NBA. I think he even said that trash talking was just another weapon to get his opponent off their game so that too is intentional and done with a purpose. On a related note and goes to how perception and reality may not always line up...Edwards has actually gotten even more explosive and focused since he made the jump to the NBA. If he was just an immature knucklehead I don't think that would have been possible. IMHO a lot of what he does and shows is calculated and intentional to serve a goal.

I had a dream last week (true) where the Knicks were playing for the Championship 7th game.

Fournier was somehow still on the team and going to the foul line. No time left.

The refs moved it 7 feet closer to the basket for him (dream rules apply  ).

And he MISSED ---

18 IN A ROW!!!

(it was a dream; they kept giving him shots).

Then the refs moved the ft line to within 3 feet of the basket.

The MSG crowd was yelling for him to just jump and dunk it.

He tried - and CLUNKED it. Knicks lost.

(but at least they were playing for the title. :D )

Posted too quickly -

GRAPHIC'S headline is:
Jayson Tatum vs Kobe Bryant Career

then at bottom it has -

Tatum W/L 5-2 and Kobe W/L 5 -1

Thought GRAPHIC maker was giving Tatum vs Kobe direct one-on-one stats (and couldn't count, either). :D

Going back to my Margarita now, thank you. 8-)
