I'm not expecting much, but with the core locked in for a few more years here, Cleveland needs role players. Will be interesting to see if Travers can potentially fill one.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I'm meh. Segments of the Cavs fanbase allow themselves to get too excited by fringe NBA players.

His first summer league was a bit intriguing, if I recall? Either way, on a two way? Great flier for them. If it doesn’t work out, send him on home.

I'm pretty excited about him. He can do a little bit of everything and is a great glue guy. I think he'll outplay his draft position and eventually earn a standard contract.

I've seen enough of Travers in the past few summer leagues to know he'll never be more than a 10th man in the NBA, especially with his lack of shooting ability.

Never heard of him. Sounds like a country singer

Smart play by CLE. That team desperatley needs 6'7-6'9 forwards who can play that 3/D role - especially w/ Okoro still in limbo (Who himself is only 6'5).
They have Niang - who cant really defend quick forward. Strus - who really is a SG. Their FRP Tyson who is also in that 6'5 range. Wade who is a nice defender at the PF spot but not a SF.
If CLE wants to be a contender after Mobley taking the next step they need size at the wing. Right now BOS would simply envelop them with all their forward size IMO.

While I am not disagreeing with you, Wade is one of those wing defenders. Had he been healthy at the end of the season, leading into the Playoffs, we would have saw him guarding guys like Wagner and Tatum.

It was. His second SL far less so (although he reportedly had an issue with his hamstring). It all comes back to Okoro's QO severely limiting our options on the back 3rd of the roster. Tyson outplayed him in SL by a pretty wide margin so I have to imagine that he's going to behind Tyson, Okoro, LeVert, and Strus on the depth chart. Emoni Bates doesn't look ready to me but he got a two-way as well.

you will always get defense and some smart passing from Travers, his shooting can be hit n miss. not terrible but he's not a natural shooter.

Travers is a fringe NBA player that isn't going to be helped by fit in CLE. He's the physical profile we need, but his skillset is optimized with a true motion style offense with optimal ball movement. CLE has Mitchell.
