He's not what he was, so maybe it would be 10 mpg of blasted assing.

According to Begley he thinks Randle will be ready. Not sure about Mitch
Also on the injury front, we reported late last month that Julius Randle’s rehab from right shoulder surgery was going very well. Randle underwent surgery in early April. The Knicks at the time said Randle would be re-evaluated in September. Based on other timelines for shoulder surgery, it would be surprising if Randle were ready for the start of training camp. But if everything progresses well, he should be back on the court for the Knicks’ Oct. 22 season opener or soon thereafter.
Mitchell Robinson is also rehabbing a surgically-repaired injury this offseason. Robinson had surgery in mid-May to repair a stress injury to his left ankle. As of earlier this week, Robinson had not yet been cleared for high-intensity weight-bearing activities during his rehab, per people familiar with the matter. So Robinson has to clear several hurdles before he gets clearance to fully participate in training camp.

I started watching the OG-Randle games again. I'm up to the 3rd game, the Philly game.

The Knicks look so good, and Randle wasn't totally in sync yet, not like he was a few games later.

If Mitch can stay healthy (we know he won't), Precious brings a nice all around game as a backup C.

They'll miss iShart, particularly the later, post Randle version where he was doing more with the ball, but you'd have to think that having Randle back and Mikal now on the team, that that version of the team is better than the late season version that featured hobbled Mitch, no Randle, and Mikal not yet on the team.

Also, this Philly game is the game where Deuce broke out shooting. And think, no more Grimes constantly missing open 3's, Deuce or Donte in that role.

No Burks stinking up the place. Have Donte or Deuce or even Cam Payne to replace that.

Team is in a much better place.

Still would like another legit C to play those 40 games Mitch is going to miss, though.

Yeah, I don't know how we're not better with Randle than without him so I hope he's at full strength and ready to go. If he's locked in it will make defending us very difficult with so many scoring options on both the starting unit and the bench.

If healthy, we're possibly the deepest squad in the NBA. Having Hart, Donte and Deuce coming off the bench is pretty incredible. Combine that with what I think Kolek is capable of and I expect some of our wins to come from the second unit increasing our leads while the starters rest.

Yeah, considering the Knicks first 4 off the bench is probably:
Donte
Hart
Precious
Deuce

that's a nice bench.

What is even better, and I'm aware of the thing people say where the last 4 guys on the bench don't win games, but to have some combination of the following available is really something:

Kolek
Cam Payne
KeitaBates-Diop
Sims
Dadiet
McCullars

Deepest Knick team in 50 + years

Knick team is absolutely loaded except at C.

Still feel like they are going to do something here possibly at the cost of Duece.

Deuce is only going to get better! Dude's a freaking gym rat, along with being an athletic workout junkie. During the season and playoffs, you could really see how Deuce's hard work was/is paying off. While many were on tired legs... Deuce was still seemingly fresh. Anxious to see if/how his game has grown

Unfortunately, he's likely going to be the piece to go when a trade goes down. With Josh and DD coming off the bench, it's hard to imagine many minutes for Deuce.

Wonder if on Friday we’ll see Dadiet + KDB + WSH FRP + SRPs(?) for Kessler.

Dadiet seems like an out of character pick if he wasn’t selected for another team, and Utah has even more guards than we do so KDB might actually crack their rotation.

Deuce may not get much more than 14-16 mpg when we are at full health. But there will be plenty of nights when we need him to play 20+

Especially if our non-Brunson minutes go better with Randle back, DDV on the bench, and Deuce’s progress.

Not hard for me to imagine...I see it this way;

JB - Deuce/DD
MB - DD/ Deuce
MR - PA, maybe JR
OG - JH
JR - OG/JH

See a 9 man rotation barring injury or foul trouble

Adding Bridges especially at the price we paid means he will obviously getting major major minutes. Duece was already under a squeeze and is not an elite ball handling 1. He is more an undersized 2. Add a supposedly potentially pro ready or near pro ready Kolek who is more a pure 1 than McBride and it makes it even more murky.

No question we all love him but he is simply not an ideal fit for the current roster construction. Not that he wouldn't add some level of value but his value simply would not be maximized on this roster.

I have no issue keeping him but If it took him to get a half decent Center you do it in a heartbeat.

Kolek may be more of a pure PG, but I don't see him getting burn over Deuce this season. His defense is atrocious. I do agree with you on Bridges, which imo means him and Deuce playing together. I guess we'll see but Thibs seems to really like Deuce and what he brings. And DD and Deuce also played well together. No way am I trading him for "a HALF DECENT Center". Not me.

Minute crunch with a fully healthy squad doesn't justify keeping him over getting a Center that is deserving of 20+ minutes a game. That includes Richards and Kessler.

Bates Diop can’t be aggregated again until Friday (sept 6th). So that’s the first day that any Dadiet+filler* framework would be legal.

Next deadline would be Dec 15th when Payne’s contract becomes tradeable.

*I’m not counting deuce, Jericho, or Kolek as filler
