I have so many things to say as an avid Tolkien enthusiast. I try as hard as i can to enjoy anything in the lotr universe and take it on its merits. i WANT to love Rings Of Power as well, but god its so boring. Why do the Orcs have families now? Like what the **** is happening lol. Also I have no idea how they managed to make Galadriel so unlikable. it's actually impressive they turned a 5k+ year old elf into a teenager.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Some nice reminders of low-key classics like Review and [infrequently-mentioned GOAT darkhorse] Better Things. Happy to see they got the right BSG episode in there. Awesome to see The Leftovers so worthily high.

Many of these shows have so many great episodes that this list had to be super difficult to compile, but this looks like a really thorough job to me and I'm not going to nitpick it.

Still plugging "Signal 30" for Mad Men though.

I don't think they repeated any shows on this list, which surprises me considering that there are shows that have multiple great episodes that weren't included. But it was pretty nice to see Bojack Horseman's underwater episode on there.

True, that's the reason why I never got through the books. But it's less forgivable in a visual medium.

Okay, honest question. Why watch a bad show that you're having a bad time with? There are so many good shows to watch instead!

I think if you're invested in a property you might feel like you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. I felt that watching The Winter King last year and Borderlands last week. Knew going in that both would be bad and terribly disappointing, but I wanted to see if there was any enjoyment to wring out of them.

I'm invested in the story, I suppose. I'm not even a major Tolkien fan, but I loved the Peter Jackson movies and there was something quite thrilling about a show that depicts the backstory. And there were a handful of moments in Season 1 that had me pretty enthralled and allowed me to enjoy the show despite the things that I disliked about it.

But the things about Season 1 that bugged me have been magnified in Season 2. It's like they took the wrong lessons from the first season and doubled down on them.

I mean its a spin off of probably the most beloved movie trilogy in history. I feel like there's a lot of people who still love of lord of rings. Tolkien fan or not.

Late to the party a bit but I really liked Alien Romulus personally.
Spoiler:
I’m seeing a decent amount of criticism aimed at all the callbacks to the other movies but I kinda liked it, I didn’t find it too bad. I thought the atmosphere, cinematography, feel, soundtrack was all top notch and the movie was genuinely scary at times. Effects were awesome outside of the CGI for Ian holm.

Thought the Offspring twist at the end was bat **** in a good way, creature design was great and genuinely upsetting, again in a good way haha. Like some ungodly hybrid of the Engineers from Prometheus, Slenderman, and Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne. It’s dope they cast some 7’7” Romanian basketball player to play the part lol.

Andy the android was awesome, dude basically plays two separate characters and kills it with both of them.

My main criticism of the film, and I get why others would dislike the movie over it, is that I genuinely didn’t give a crap about any of the characters outside of Rain and Andy. The movie had a 2 hour runtime, I think you could tack on like 10-15 minutes with better character development. Nothing crazy, but like add a few scenes, some conversations between them (before **** gets crazy) that add more color to the characters so they’re not just the chick that gets chest bursted or the British dude that gets killed by acid lol. Like give me a couple scenes at least of them talking, doing stuff that makes me think of them as semi interesting human beings rather than just fodder for the facehuggers and xenos.

Again it didn’t bother me a ton, but just something that kept it as an 8/10 for me rather than a 9+.

Yea, I thought this summed up it up nicely.

I couldn't even understand 90% of what one of the characters was saying. Some of it was the Britishness of it all but I also think the sound mixing was off.

Good pick. Vincent Kartheiser doesn't get enough individual recognition for his work on the show.

Couldn't help but notice an omission clearly meant to bother an audience of one (me. the only person who cares about Wings is me).

I noticed that, as well as they picked a season 8 episode of Game of Thrones.

That felt like a career achievement award type pick for the career achievement award episode (which was the best episode of the last two seasons imo). I wouldn't have picked it, but I get why.

As usual, I'm right on top of things. Really enjoying the first season of "Dark Winds". Beautifully shot and well-acted.

I saw that pop up on Netflix (I think). I like Zahn McClarnon, I'll give it a shot.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
