Finally, over .500. They seem to have found their groove at the plate now. It's too bad they had that long slump in May/June. 5 games back of ATL for the wild card seems like a long shot to make that up. But they are in second place in the Central, fwiw.

Very wrong.

4-4 today with an intentional walk.
Up to .233. Big after being in the .180s 6 weeks ago.

I actually prefer this type of progression (start slow and figure it out). Often times, guys will come up and get hot right out of the gate. But then ML pitching figures them out and then they fizzle away. Whereas guys that come up and struggle initially but figure it out tend to be more sustainable. This is a very positive sign for PCA.

Nice comeback today. 6 runs in the 9th. That's 32 runs in the last two games! They are fattening up on Pittsburgh pitching.

Cubs was owed a game like this since they blew 8 run lead against the Padres. Fun win.

Cubs streaking now- 4 games over .500, with a chance for back to back sweep tomorrow.

Finally hitting.

Counsel is known to have his teams peak at the end of the season and win to get into the playoffs.

70-66. 26 games left. 5 games out.

Probably need to go 20-6. Doable if they stay hot.

4 games out now. The remaining schedule is a bit all over the place in terms of difficulty. But with 9 games left against the dodgers Yankees and Phillies (3 best records in baseball) it won't be an easy road.

Another one.

Wicks looked good. Big improvement over Hendricks.
The vets are finally hitting. Paredes Swanson and Nico RBIng and scoring runs.

If ATL loses today we are 3 games out.

I’d like to see a sweep of the Pirates and then win the series against Yankees Phils and Brewers.

Combined No No.

Imanaga is legit. PCA electric again.

Too bad we couldn’t spread that hitting around. Had we held on to win the first game we’d be looking good. Need another 7-8 game streak to have a chance.

Yeah, too bad they only managed 1 out of 3. The playoffs were a long shot anyway, considering it was the Braves we had to chase down. But fun seeing a no hitter by Imanaga- he's been great all year. And Danby, PCA, Happ, Belli, and Suzuki continue to rake.

Cubs took one off the Dodgers last night. Playing the Yankees then the Dodgers back to back is a tough row to hoe. But good to see their bats come alive again after scoring 2 measly runs in 3 games v. NYY. Kyle Hendricks has actually been pretty decent after his injury and rough start.

NYM have caught ATL for the last wild card, so we're chasing them now. Still only 5.5 games back, but time is running out.

What a game tonight- down 3-1 in the 8th, they come up with 5 runs, on only 2 hits. LA committed 3 errors in the inning. The big star was PCA though, who made three great catches in centerfield, the last one to rob Muncy of a 2 run homer with 2 out and a man on in the bottom of the 9th. Would have made it a one run game, but he snagged it, despite being interfered with by a fan. Dodger's announcers were over the moon about PCA after the game, and rightly so. He probably saved at least 3 runs tonight.

PCA is looking like a real superstar.

How he loves the game and competes is a joy to watch.

So what's the rule about that, with a Dodgers fan reaching into the field of play and interfering with the ball? If he didn't make the catch, could the umpires have ruled him out anyway due to that?
