You don't get to win a title every year, ask Jokic.

Giannis stuff is legit. The 7 foot Westbrook bit was figured out by playoff defenses. He has to learn how to play like a big now and off of Dame but we already know that. There are definately times off the break that he can maybe find space for hero drives but we mainly need creative ways to get him the ball in different spots for playmaking out of the post/block.

Who cracked the code on Giannis and when? The last time he was healthy for a series when he took Boston to 7 games with a 34-15-7 average and Khris out? Or did it happen the previous year when we won the title?

He posted a ts% of a paltry 51.6 against the Celtics, & 52.5 vs. the Heat in '23. So they did.

We need more efficiency than that from him, or just about anybody. Thank God for Khris, Pat, & D up until last yr.

BTW, we would have beaten Indy w/ just Dame & Khris last yr, let alone Giannis too, if healthy. But we wouldn't have beaten the Heat in '23, even if Giannis was available the whole series. The lack of efficiency & Jrue getting owned on both ends was too much.

Some series' Giannis is neutered in offensively. That's where potentially having both Khris & Dame, or 1 being insurance against losing another, in the halfcourt, kicks in. We just had terrible luck w/ it last year to lose 2+ of the big 3.

Lol, the team had a collective 49.6% TS for that Boston series. Imagine anyone thinking the Warriors figured out Lebron in the 2015 Finals. If only we had like, numerous playoff series throughout Giannis' career where he's been an uber efficient scorer and absolute offensive monster against quality opponents.....maybe even against the same team when we had our 2nd best player available?

Your argument is that the Celtics figured out Giannis in a series he utterly dominated because his true shooting percentage was 51.6?

The Bucks *apart from Giannis* shot 28% from 3 in this series. What's your theory of why it went to 7 games?

LOL we would have had a much higher ts% if Giannis had a higher ts%. Imagine thinking because some other players also struggled it justifies their #1 doing it. Khris, Pat, & Lopez managed. Dame would have managed if we'd already traded him for Jrue Bledsoe.

Those are literally the last 2 playoff series' he was available for. The argument here was some teams, which change each year even w/in the same franchise, had figured him out. And those #'s speak for themselves. The counter-argument was ppgzz.

Khris, Pat (are you kidding me?) & Lopez don't get quadrupled teamed. But of course Khris didn't manage because he didn't play. If he had, it would have put another weapon on the floor that you couldn't leave and helped immensely.

Right, the overall point is that its not a good playoff offense as a team. Not that Giannis won't still get his because he's a freak. The offense has pretty much crashed every year in the playoffs. They made the moves to try to remedy it last year, but it all got mucked up due to injuries. Try again this year. But please don't go back to Giannis barreling into 5 guys while everyone watches him.

You brought up his #'s, including pts, obscuring his efficiency was poor. So that largely negates it. He far from played like a #1. That was another series Middleton would have been the #1 option & pushed us over.

Defense, rebounding (Giannis for those 2), Playoff Pat, timely shots/plays (like from Bobby). The C's had a net rating of 8 pts higher per game.

Khris can't get quadruple-teamed because his effectiveness doesn't require him burrowing all the way in to the basket to score. He can shoot over you from 3 or mid-range. It's harder to gameplan for a guy like that. If he hits those shots, you need to tip your cap. W/ Giannis you can scheme against him. That's obvious. He's a 1-level scorer, not a 3. He's just the best at it, if he gets there.

Giannis has struggled in other series', w/ Khris, where they have an athletic big, maybe another who can bracket him and a coach who's decent - see Toronto. In addition to the series' against Miami.

And yes, Pat. He scored double-digits in both series' mentioned w/ super high efficiency. He was among the reasons they were competitive, in spite of Giannis not playing like the #1 option we need him, or an alternative like Dame/Khris, to be.

Everyone did.. except you maybe
let's disguise a wall, jump out in front of him as he enters the lane and let him either get charges on us or try to jump over us and get injured. I think Toronto had the original version and Spoelstra took it to the next level with his K. Love slide thing.

He's amazing but you can't be THAT predictable in a 7 game series when teams have weeks to dissect you. Find what GA and Giannis can do well together and build a complex scheme out of it... if they complain then remind them that we have 1 championship in like 12 GA years

Right. And it was the one year when due to that injury he was forced off ball closer to the hoop instead of barreling in from the wings/top.

We have Doc.... hhhhh.. CP3 gravity had Blake and DeAndre running clear lanes off ball to the hoop.. Dame gravity should be able to do that if Giannis could move without the ball that's an unstoppable combo.. plus shooters all over to combat double teams

So what exactly happened in 2021 then? Did Spo just forget how to "expose" Giannis? Or did Giannis "figure out" the Heat defense and went full play-maker mode while his teammates actually, finally, hit open shots off his gravity while he was getting triple-teamed in the paint? Or does a sweep not count if your TS isn't high enough?

Giannis ts % in 2021 vs. the Heat: 49.7. That's the supposed best individual series, you're cherry-picking.

Any other great points? Or are you done hanging yourself.

Is your contention that the Heat played well against Giannis in a series that he went for 23/15/8, had an offensive rating of 112 and a defensive rating of 91?

His TS% tanked because he went 1-16 from three. Miami didn't have **** for Giannis.

Giannis's offensive play wouldn't even crack the top 5 reasons this team is in trouble.
