On other issues, Lexie Hull is invaluable, not only because she has figured it out but because Katie Lou Samuelson is unplayable. I know that she was a new signee who was a fairly high draft pick in the day so Indiana feels its needs to play her but honesty she is awful. A defensive sieve with limited offensive ability, and she has lost her shooting touch as well.

Also, the Fever DESPERATELY need to replace Smith with a defender/rim protector. But we knew that already.

The Fever guards lost their composure. Clark forced too many 2-point runners, a shot that she is not yet very good at. And Mitchell flat-out went into blind chucker mode.

But I should return to the start of my post, full credit to the Lynx. That is an elite team.

pretty much my take away. The Fever actually played a good game but the Lynx were just the more consistent team. On the bright side by losing this game it increases Indys chances of playing the Sun in the first round.

Whatever softens up CT or MIN up early in the playoffs works for me.

So good to see Chennedy back.
Chicago's roster is still deeply flawed, and they never had a shot to do any real damage in the Playoffs (for sure not after the Mabrey trade)

But they need Chennedy so bad. She just put so much pressure on the defense.
And, sure, in an ideal world the Sky have more shooters. But they don't (although Banham killed a Sparks run with a couple big 3's).

Absent all that, Chennedy is just perfect for them. When all goes to hell offensively, as it does, she can always put the defense on their heels and go get a bucket.

The team just isn't close to the same without her.

Congratulations on a historic rookie season Angel. You and Kamilla are the main reason I am watching the WNBA again for first time since the inaugural season, and will be for the foreseeable future. Heal up and see you next year.

Ugh. Yup, what a season to break the league rebounding mark and really play above what I think most expected. The fact you could even have a ROY conversation earlier in the season was a huge surprise.

I wonder if there’s any wink wink, shut her down, might as well tank for Paige at work.
Maybe not. Possible Kamilla really shines as the lone big and then we’ll all wonder (again) about the long term fit of the dual bigs.

Unless Paige falls in the draft, the Sky won't be able to draft her due to the Wings pick swap

On the injury note, that seems to be a tough thing about being a fan of women's basketball. Injuries obviously happen in all sports, but seem to be more frequent in women's sports, particularly ACL injuries.

I'm glad Angel got most of her rookie season.

Still pissed that we didn't get to see what Brink could do with Hamby and Rickea this season.

Yeah seeing two big names go down sucks, but it's the nature of the beast.

Angel needs to rest, heal up and when ready get into the lab. She has a lot of work ahead of her.

You'll get used to it. Just remember the Sun are named after a Casino in CT

Sky should be better next year but if the Sparks get the number one pick i can see them making a Fever type of leap. Phoenix seems like they are a team on the decline.

I don't know why teams think that passing the ball to a big who is 15 feet from the basket and static, with a defender on him/her, and then letting that player go to work in isolation, is a good thing. It only is if it's a true superstar. Otherwise, a turnover and/or forced shot under pressure is happening. I write this after watching Smith & Boston flail this season when put into that position with Indy, but honestly it's true for all NBA and WNBA teams, again aside from superstars.

Why does ESPN not have games they're airing on ESPN also on ESPN+? I get that DirecTV sucks, but this is a Disney issue.

Man, if Fagbenle just had more skill (and could stay healthy) she would be what the Fever needed. Great athlete, floor runner, rim protector. Even with her weaknesses, I still think she's a better fit than Smith. As long as she doesn't shoot jumpers, OMG don't do that Temi. Please no.

What on earth did Indiana drink last night? They look like the May Fever. Sleepwalking defense + playing head down on offense and dribbling into traffic. Awful basketball.

This version of Lexie is the 3&D player that every team needs.
