I been following it a bit more and even some women's college basketball last year while Caitlin Clark was there. She has definitely brought a level of excitement for the league, and I hope she gets them on the right track. It's awful to see so many bad takes about her from analyst and former players.
I mostly entertain myself with watching chess videos on top tier play, and just self-learning a lot of stuff via YT. I've been slowly detoxing myself away from social media such as Instagram, Facebook. Never really got into TikTok.
Just turning people into WNBA casuals in the first place is already a huge accomplishment considering how long the WNBA has been around, how many great WNBA players have come and gone and how many championships have been won without much fanfare. I get there are salty WNBA vets who have been doing great things for a long time but never got a fraction of the attention Clark was getting even for a regular college season game and now on an even bigger stage in the WNBA. Thing is, if people don't care, people won't care. They can kick and whine about a Clark who hadn't earned her stripes yet in the WNBA but ultimately, she got people to care enough to watch their games and she deserves the credit and recognition from them for this.
I mean, I care enough to know that Angel Reese is kinda not that good outside of being a beast rebounder
