Yep, one episode into the new season. Big fan of the show, has a different feel to it than most shows. Can't put a finger on it. Glad to hear it is good.

Rebel Ridge is really, really good.

Spoiler:
Only criticism is it kind of runs out of gas at the end.

Just to note, if you quote someone you'll see anything they have in spoiler tags before you hit submit.

Looking forward to Rebel Ridge sometime this weekend. Football severely eats into my free time for the next 5+ months.

Incredibly difficult undertaking of course.

Agreed. It’s clearly between those two episodes and you can’t go wrong with either but Forks was my personal favorite.

One more small thought after sitting with Rebel Ridge for a couple days.

Spoiler:
The more I sit on Rebel Ridge the more I think the movie left meat on the bone. I kept thinking that an impressive action sequence was going to break out, and it never really did. I'm sure that was the point (de-escalation being such a big theme) and while I think it made for a unique and interesting movie, it did make me kinda want to see some more violence done to those hick cops.

Still liked it, still thought it was really good. Wanted that dude to kick more ass.

James Earl Jones, great actor with an all-time great voice, and for some reason, this is always the first thing I think of when I think of him.

You could do worse than watch The Bingo Long Travelling All Stars.

Whenever Olajuwon and Giannis are pictured together, I reflexively blurt "Akeem, we must leave for Zumundu immediately."

Had the good fortune to pick up one of these records on a dig in Rockford.

A damned titan but we already knew that.

James Earl Jones was in more stuff I enjoyed, that had no connections, than anyone else ever: Star Wars, Coming to America, Sandlot, Field of Dreams… at a certain point you just realize he made anything he was in feel epic.

Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

One of the funniest things I read - "“I did that once [speaking as Darth Vader] when I was traveling cross-country. I used Darth as my handle on the CB radio. The truck drivers would really freak out — for them, it was Darth Vader they were hearing. I had to stop doing that,” Jones told the Times magazine."

RIP.

This one really hit me hard. He was the greatest movie villain of all-time. He was my James Greer (sorry Wendell and Morgan). He was some of the greatest dads and authority figures in the history of cinema. Just pure class and all the outpouring of love and tributes he's receiving warms my heart.

English Teacher is pretty damn funny
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

When I think of the great James Earl Jones, this is one of the first videos that comes to mind:
