Along those lines, Nacua to IR with a PCL sprain. Will miss at least four games, including the first match with the Niners. Good thing I overspent for Kupp in my fantasy draft.

Hawks look like the Niners only competition for the division.

We'll see. The Rams took Detroit to OT in Detroit. And most of that was without Nacua. I certainly wouldn't count them out as long as Stafford is healthy.

The Niners has more competition from this one player during his off day than the entire Hawks team in a match-up this season.

Haven't saw a televised Texans game where their offense are getting stumped so badly since CJ took over. Da Bears defense has been causing them problems most of the night where they were mostly settling for long fg. Not even close to the monsters of the midway but very impressive for a prime time game. I rather have Eric Washington as DC than Sorensen but that's just me.

However, their offenses were still kinda meh under pressure but it's part of the growing process for a rookie QB on adjusting to the faster pace of the pros but it was still a one score game at the end with da Bears driving down the field for a possible win and when you have a gun slinging arm like Mahomes, there was hope for an upset which I didn't sense with the Niners game earlier in the day cause their defense sucked at stopping the ghost passer. If it wasn't for Warner ball punching fumble near the goalline, they would have lost by 3 scores easy.

Read on Twitter

I imagine some of these came off of "free plays" where Patrick knew he could just throw it up there and see what happens.

Still that is an insane stat. If you went back and dissected each of those 17 would be picks, there would probably be a more than a handful of them that drastically effected the outcomes of games. Although without looking into them myself, I don't know how apparent the defensive penalties were. Some may have been egregious, while others may have been of the ticky tack variety.

Without context, stats like this will certainly fuel the "NFL is rigged/scripted" crowd.

I will say, nobody gets calls the way Mahomes and the Chiefs do. And sure, they usually are penalties, but you can call a penalty on any NFL play. Seems like the Chiefs get them disproportionately often. And given how much their OL holds, it can get pretty absurd.

There was a third-down pass to Deebo in our game that was similar (only in terms of the contact; the KC play was much further downfield) to the one 4th and 16 PI penalty that won the game for the Chiefs. Defensive player was clearly there ahead of the ball in both cases, though not by all that much. No call for us, clearly a call for KC.

That said, this is part of what Makes Mahomes special. He can keep plays alive and then deliver accurate balls downfield late in a play in a way that really stresses a secondary. It's hard to cover that long without committing a penalty.

Last year, we suffered a bad loss and it snowballed into three losses. Very interested to see how we bounce back this week. Absolutely no reason we should lose to the Rams in Levi's South. Their OL and receiving corps are depleted, and their D seemed completely inept this past week. They are in desperation mode at 0-2, but still no excuse for us losing. If we do, reasonable questions for all the key figures in the organization.

Rams to be without Kupp against the Niners in addition to already missing Puka. Their OL is also banged up. Niners however will be without Deebo for a couple weeks due to calf strain Shanahan just announced. Sucks because he's really been playing well. Mr Hold Out needs to shake off the damn rust. Jennings and Kittle will obviously be featured more now. I would love to see youngsters like Bell and Cowing step up. Next man up let's go!

I posted in here about the Niners, too, but let's try to talk Niners season in the other thread, and stuff from the larger NFL in here.

That said, sucks about Deebo. I hadn't heard that yet.

Houston is at Minnesota this weekend. It will be interesting to see what a similar offense does against them.

Vikings defense might just be really good.
Shut out Texans the first half, Stroud with 94 yards and INT in the first half

Texans should probably move on from Stroud. Obviously that guy can't play. (Sarcasm.)

Lol.

Yeah, 1 bad game means its time to throw Stroud into the gutter.

Also, should make moves to acquire guys that have had nothing but bad games.

Tangential football rant. You guys see the news about Favre announcing he has Parkinson's? If it's true - and it probably is - I feel sorry for him. But weaponizing that diagnosis seemingly to garner sympathy when he just outright stole money from some of the neediest people in the country is such a piece of $#!+ move. No surprise from a guy like Favre.

1) Last season you couldn't stand Darnold, repeatedly insinuated he sucked and Lance should have been ahead of him
2) Purdy is SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than Darnold
3) Even if you want to play the ridiculous Darnold is better than Purdy card, you do realize that Darnold is on a 1 year contract so the possibility exists that SF could bring him back if they so choose to do so, right?

Its almost like you don't realize that Purdy has not been given an extension yet.

I actually think Darnold has better traditional physical traits which gives him a higher upside. I doubt he'd want to come back here after we let him leave.
