boston, philly or denver? i guess boston or philly since golden state and portland are west coast

florida could use a team too but i'm not sure people in miami actually go to games. new orleans would be cool too

Selling out TD Garden has me worried that Boston might get a team at the expense of Connecticut. If they do get a team, hopefully, it's not that way.

Who knows where #16 would be, but put me down for hoping the W gets back to Houston or Detroit.

Philadelphia is an interesting idea, and I'll tell you why. Currently, New Jersey is attempting to woo the Sixers to Camden, which is a half hour away from Philly. New Arena investment and their head quarters/training facility is in Camden. If that move happens (they'll still be The Philadelphia 76ers) and a new arena gets built that seems like a perfect location for the last team.

Return of the Houston Comets.
Now that would be fun.

Golden State, Toronto and Portland. Where should the league expand to next? I think we need one more to hit 16 teams.

I’d really like to see the Houston Comets come back. Largest market without a team (after Toronto gets theirs) and it’s really awful that the team that won the first 4 titles doesn’t exist any more.

I really enjoy watching the Wings play. Arike for offense and Jacy Sheldon for defense!

Oh i was waiting for this announcement today lol.

Houston Comets return would be amazing. Hopefully the would be owners would want to bring back the franchise instead of starting a new history.

Well the New York Liberty actually play in the same arena as the Brooklyn Nets so technically Brooklyn already has a team.

Philly is a good call. It is a major market with a long basketball history.

Well somewhere else in New York, another borough.

That market is huge.

New Jersey too maybe

The Sixers are currently being offered up to $900m in credits/economic incentives to move across the bridge to South Jersey where their HQ and training center are already located.

Makes sense, it’s just that Dolan owned them previously and was apathetic - which is why Tsai owns them now.

If Dolan wants a new team now, that’s pretty weird.

If it’s someone else, who? And where will the team play given that MSG and Barclays are presumably not options?

Finally there is always the question of whether loyalty within the city can be split. Why should any Liberty fans leave move their loyalty elsewhere? Why would we expect those apathetic about the Liberty to care about an expansion team?

Pretty excited for todays games!
- Fever vs Aces twice this week. MVP vs ROY, Hottest team in the league vs back to back champs, youngsters vs veterans etc.
- Mystics I'm interested in them since they have potential in drafting Paige or at least 2 very good rookies for next season to pair with Edwards.
- Sparks Same reason as Mystics for me.
- Storm I hope they blow out the Sparks so we can see Nika Muhl get more than a few minutes!

Mystics still alive for the 8-seed too!

You would think they'd be tanking (and maybe they are), but they are coming off wins against the Mercury and Wings. They would love for the Sky to get that 8-seed, but they beat them a couple weeks ago (no Chennedy).

Management may not like it, but the players on this team are really good and don't seem to be interested in multiple lottery picks.

Which might make sense because they are one of the few teams that are deep at PG heading in to nice PG draft. Slim, Vanloo, and Melbourne probably aren't as excited about Paige and/or Miles coming to town as everybody else is.

But either way, I'm buying stock in the Mystics.

Some high draft picks, for sure. But Austin is awesome if she can ever stay healthy. Again, Sykes/Vanloo/Melbourne at point is such good depth. Atkins and Big Stef are really nice vet, along with Walker-Kimbrough and Samuelson.

Frankly, somebody much smarter than me would need to explain why Emily Engstler is not playing meaningful minutes on a Championship contender. She's awesome, and could barely see the floor until the Hines-Allen trade.

And of course, Aaliyah Edwards looks like she's going to be great.

Paige is a baller. Looking forward to seeing her in the WNBA, although to be sure I will catch her some during this college season.

Fun fact: In the 2019 U19 US Women's Basketball Final, in which the US beat Australia, the 5 starters for the US were -

Aliyah Boston
Nazharah Hillmon-Baker
Paige Bueckers
Rhyne Howard
Haley van Lith

A nice team, eh? Cameron Brink was on that squad too, but Boston got the starting nod.

Paige went 17/7/6 in the Final and was named tournament MVP. Oh, and some young lady named Caitlin Clark came off the bench, and went 2/2/0 with (yep) 2 turnovers.

However, that's not quite the full story. It wasn't that Caitlin was unloved; quite the contrary. She was the only player on the team who was young enough to qualify for the next 2021 U19 tournament, meaning that as the selectors viewed things, she was the single best player of the next tournament's crop. Good call that. Caitlin went 13/8/8 in the 2021 Final and was named tournament MVP.

That's good stuff. Thank you.

Seening that Rhyne and Naz Hillmon were both on that team make the Atlanta Dream even more confounding than they already are.

On paper, the Dream are every bit as good as a team like the Storm. Of course, they weren't healthy in the first half. But even since they've gotten healthy with all this talent, they keep playing hot potato with the 8 seed against a Chicago team that was done the minute they traded Mabrey (and was surely done when Chennedy got sick).
